Default Did Chevy remove reference of 0-60 in 3.7 seconds?

Had a friend ask me this morning about the 2015 Z51 specs. I told him to go check out Chevy's Corvette website. He was impressed with the 0-60 in 3.8 seconds, but I remember seeing a the A8 Z51 officially advertised as 3.7 seconds on the Corvette website (http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-stingray.html). I can't find any reference to that number on the main site any longer. Anyone else notice this?

UPDATE: Added back to the 2016 site

“The Corvette Stingray is a great example of how we are leveraging engineering and technology to improve both efficiency and performance,” said Mark Reuss, GM executive vice president, Global Product Development, Purchasing & Supply Chain. “No other car can match 460 horsepower, 0-60 mph in better than 3.7 seconds, and 29 mpg on the highway.”

Wonder why they removed it from the Corvette overview on their primary site (http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-stingray.html)? Lots of other sites still reference the times, but it looks like GM is no longer actively marketing it since they removed it.

Maybe GM removed it because the 2016 C7 is going to be even faster.

Care to post the link? I know there are 1,000's of articles stating this, but it's been pulled from the official description on the Corvette site marketing the car.

And, Google is my largest client - they already are my friend

I did. I referenced it above. I'll post it again. http://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/n...automatic.html

Edit: Maybe you meant what Search words did I use? I used, "GM 8 Speed Automatic Corvette 3.7 Seconds 0-60"

Why does the Z51 make more hp than the non-z51? Because of the dry sump?

This was simply an article from September 20, 2014. Every article ever written and posted to the web in 2014 is still searchable and likely active or cached. I'm saying that Chevy has removed the 3.7 second marketing from their current website http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-stingray.html (not from an article written 6 months ago).

The NPP exhaust. If you add it to the none Z51, it rates higher too.

Yup. Torque and Hp are the same as the z51, as long as the non-z51 has NPP.

I'm no expert but I think the 0-60 time is faster on the Z51 due to more aggressive gearing rather than the NPP 5hp increase.

Z51 has better rear end axle gear ratios that make it faster !

Correct. Combination of increased HP (due to NPP), auto and aggressive rear axle make it quicker to 60.

True but I'd rather have the longer gears so I wouldn't have to shift earlier on the MPH range. (I have the Z51).

That would surprise me, since the ratios are not that different. I would think it would come to the driver 9 out of ten times.

You're exactly right. It really does come down to the driver. But the same driver (the professional ones) will be slightly quicker with the Z51 A8. It would be a drivers race for the rest of us.
