Default Recall for nut missing on emergency brake bracket

I was talking to the guy at the parts desk today and found out that my car has a recall for a missing nut on the emergency brake bracket that is on the driver's side...

Sure enough, there is an "L" shaped bracket just behind the bumper cover, next to the muffler, that was supposed to have a nut on each end, attaching it to two studs coming through the floor panel. Mine had the top nut, but was missing the bottom nut...
The instructions are to install both nuts, make sure they are tight, and use a jam nut on the top stud.
I found a nut with washer to fit the bottom, and double nutted both..

Bump, for those that want to check their 2014 Stingray for this recall.

My dealership took care of this on mine several weeks ago.

Technically, this is not a recall, but a Service Update. I am glad you were able to correct this condition for the missing nut.

My service advisor told me there was nothing listed for my car besides the fuel filler. But I will check for this myself. Once again, thanks for the information and helpful photo Tex!

Is it possible to do a visual check for this without jacking up the car?

They installed mine while in the service appointment pull up area, so I'm guessing it's at least reachable if not viewable.

Yes, once you know where it is, you can actually see it by looking through the opening for the exhaust tips in the rear bumper...
I checked and fixed mine just by looking behind the bumper with the car on the ground.

Poor photo, but here is the location

I have an exhaust filler plate installed so I can't see it through the exhaust opening. What side of the car is it on, and is it on both the 2014 and 2015 models?

It should just be on 2014 models.
The bracket is on the driver side, and the photo above shows the left most exhaust tip...I took the photo in the original post with the car on the ground, looking back at the left rear corner of the car.

Wow, I'm getting too old and too fat to crawl around under a low profile car. I finally found it and mine has the proper nut installed. My 2014's last four VIN numbers are: 7935. Thanks for the information, I think I'll go lie down now.
