Warped brake rotor
13500 miles and I seem to have a warped brake rotor. Haven't taken it in yet to get checked out. Appears to be in the rear because I don't notice any steering wheel pump. Never been tracked and I don't recall ever hammering the brakes and definitely don't ride them either.

It could be pad transfer build-up on the rotor. Go beat the hell out of the brakes and see if that helps (seriously, it's somewhat common for performance pads driven gently on the street).

odd.... and very crappy. can they resurface a warped rotor, or does it have to be replaced.
Makes me wonder if the warranty will cover it, or if they're going to try sticking it on you.

I had a warped rotor on a new car once. They replaced it under warranty with no hesitation. I'd get it to a dealer ASAP. They get worse, not better with time.

After some research I ran across this link in another post. it seems Kracka may be correct it is probably pad transfer on the rotors. I'm pretty sure I didn't do the "break-in" procedure on the brakes after I got the car. I wonder if it is too late or can I just do the break-in now and fix the problem??

You can do the break/bed-in procedure at any time.

Seems like every new GM product I have owned ends up with a warped rotor or rotors. In the past from my experience, it,depends on the mileage whether or not they will replace. They can be turned but that is a bandaid as removing material from the rotor it just makes it easier to warp. I just ended up replacing the rotors with a much better quality product.

If, after using your brakes firmly coming to a stop I always let it roll ahead 6" then after a few seconds let it roll ahead again. This way it lets the rotors cool evenly whereas if the rotors are hot and you hold the brakes keeping the pads against the rotors in one place this area cannot cool evenly and can warp.

Hopefully it is just pad transfer on the rotors. Would hate to think the rotors are warped with such low mileage.

Believe it or not, the lug nuts are not tightened the same. Some are over tightened and that can cause warping. They need to be loosened and torqued to 100lbs.
