New Rims - Base Coupe C7
About to replace my stock tires and rims (18/19) on my cyber gray base coup. Should I stick with the 18/19 setup or change to 19/20?? Reasons?
This is a daily driver in NJ, no track use. FYI- shocks and sways have already been switched to the firmer Z51 setup. Thanks

Jake, Ive been eyeing your C7 for a while now. Along with GlenE's. Not too many us with Cyber Gray, and the body color make a huge difference when modding wheels, spoilers, splitters etc. Any reason you stayed with 18/19 instead of going up to 19/20?

Stock 18/19 tires = better RIDE
Pilot Super Sport ZP
Steel belt angles used for BASE C7 emphasize RIDE & treadlife...Z51 angles focus on increased performance & at-the-limit handling.

Damn, and I thought I was just going to have to trash the old stock 5spoke wheel. Need to post them for sale I guess. NJ roads could be better, but I don't drive in winter etc. However, I might look for all seasons tires at some point and guess the 18/19 would have more options.

I also use mine as a daily driver and don't track it, and went with the base wheels when I ordered my C7 for 3 reasons: (1) significantly less cost, (2) taller sidewall/better ride, (3) ZP A/S tires are available in those sizes when the summer-only OEM tires wear out.

Stick with the 18/19 for a better ride. The overall diameter is the same as the 19/20 "better look" "fills the wheel wheel" crowd due to the aspect ratio of the tire. If you drive over rough roads, you will definitely notice the difference, much less chance of bending or breaking a wheel.

C7Jake - your car looks great with those matte gunmetal wheels on it. Well done.
