Default Loud metallic bang on first start up

Anyone with a loud metallic clang on cold start up. Doesn't do it on every first cold start up of the day, but enough to make u think you broke something.. seems to do it more often when very cold out.

Mine has a pretty loud clap in exhaust noise sounds like half as loud as backfire when starting cold also on wot shifts sometimes it has similar sound. Not really desirable, may indicate injector dripping overnight or not shutting off clean, is where my thinking is headed.

Any reason you haven't had it flat-bedded to the dealer? Some might want to wait for something to actually break, why I don't know.

Do you have the NPP adjustable mufflers? I remember a thread here awhile back about the mufflers making some sort of sound when first started.

So does mine, but it's not a "loud metallic clang."

I agree with other suggestions to try to capture it on audio/video recordings, and to certainly take it to the dealer.

If they are unable to find anything, and assuming it's still under warranty, I'd start it over and over while it's cold to try to induce a hard failure so that it can be identified and fixed.

Take it to the dealer... The motor should not be making any metallic noise on start-up.

I agree with the others here - I'd take the car into the dealer and let them try and figure out just what is going on. Loud metallic noises any time would be a worry for me.
