Default What's the deal my trunk WONT OPEN!!!

Both the button in the car and the remote won't open it. Is there trick to fix this or a dealer trip?

Can you hear the latch moving when you hit the remote? Did you try both buttons/one under the hatch, and the one inside the car? If you're not hearing anything, I'd look for a blown fuse. Assuming it's inside/not frozen shut.

the key opened the trunk(i did not know about that key thanks. But both remote and inside button do not. I do not even hear anything when I push them. One more thing when I hit the trunk button on remote lights flash but trunk does not budge. Any idea where the trunk release fuse would be?

The fuse map is in the owners manual.

FWIW, I have to hold the remote button down for second or so before it pops.
(the interior button is instant release)

Not sure about the inside release but the remote trunk release on most (all?) recent GM models requires you to hold the button for a short time before the trunk releases. This was put into place because of people inadvertently opening the trunk when the fob hit something in their pocket.

It may not be the fuse. It could be the solenoid. Easier to check the fuse and rule it out before you take it to a dealer.

no doubt. I would rather cut my pinky than go to a dealer. I will definetely check fuse first.

When I took my museum delivery last October on my 2015 Z51 Vert I was told that the trunk would not open.

This was after it had already been opened 2 or 3 times.
They ended up taking the car back over to the factory to get it repaired. They told me there was a broken part on the release mechanism.

It ended up it was great because during the extra 1 1/2 hour wait, we saw a couple areas I don' t think we were supposed to see at the museum.

Did you ever get this figured out ? Mine is doing the exact same thing . Key fob , inside button , and rear plastic button wont open the hatch. Doesn't make any noise at all either. I also lost the metal key lol

Any resolution found for this issue? I am now having the same problem with my 2015 Z51 Convertible. Only the mechanical key works. The other option, fob, button by license plate and button by steering column make a noise but do not open.

It will not open if the Valet Mode is set. I fell for that one.

If you want to talk to bill, you will need a Mel meter or a spirit box.

Are the fob batteries old? I would start there first. Is the car battery seven years old? When you get in will the car start and all the accessories work?
