Went on a Corvette Safari
No, I did not order it, I couldn't wait. My C6 sold in 6 days and I could not wait two or three months. I thoroughly researched all of the dealers in the southeast. I live in the Tampa Florida area. I found the car in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, as I wanted except for chrome wheels and the racing stripes. It was an easy fix. Had it in 10 days instead of 2-3 months.

If you really want to mess with their minds, tell them, "It's a Chevrolet."

I couldn't wait either and got my car from Rick Hendricks up in Duluth GA. When I first got it and several times since then people asked how much I paid. I'd say guess and they'd come up with 80K to one guy 150K. When I tell them less than $ 58 they can't believe it.

Update on gawkers
On my way home this last weekend I had one stop for lunch. A young couple, I would say in their twenties, came out of the restaurant as we were entering. They took one look at my car and said "Holy S___" what is that? Is that a Maserati? He immediately started to interrogate me as to how much it cost, which I avoided. "That is the coolest car I have ever seen", he said. I said, "heavens no, its not a Maserati", its a Stingray", very proudly. "That's a corvette, are you kidding me?" I said, "no it is a Corvette Stingray". The couple walked off walking backwards to their car so they could look at it as long as possible shaking their heads in disbelief.
This is what they were looking at:

When they looked up and saw me they looked a little embarrassed and said, "is this yours". I said yes and they all gave me thumbs up.
I said, "no problem I've already taken hundreds of pictures my self".
Take as many as you like. One of the guys said, "you are a lucky man". I said, " yes I am, but I've worked hard and smart as well". I am a blessed man!!

As I was growing up, my mom always answered the "How old are you" question with "180", a silly enough answer that no one knew how old she was, but enough to say it's none of your business! Your question made me think I should use the same answer for the never-ending question of "How much did this set you back?"
My New Answer: " $180,000".

I can see why your car caught their attention - it's gorgeous.

Burning Brakes
The best one so far, I pulled into a liquor store to pick something up and a Jeep with the top off pulled in behind me and drove over to where I parked, female driver about 25, as I got out she asked me what the car was , told her, she exclaimed "that is the most beautiful car I have ever seen, it's a piece of art!" Ok maybe a little over the top for me but I thought she had a point. She didn't go into the store just wanted to find out about the car.
Yours was better though, mine had to be 75 but she was very nice.
