2014 Z51 3LT or 2011 Z06 Z07 Carbon??
Due to an unfortunate accident with my '07 C6 Z51 I am in the market for another Corvette. I am torn between the Z06 Z07 Carbon package on a 2011 and a 2014 Z51 3LT. Both have their +/- and I wanted to ask the C7 forum for their opinion (I'll be asking the C6 Z06 forum for theirs as well).
She won't be a DD, or a dedicated track car, but more of my "weekend warrior". I loved using my '07 for road trips, track days, spirited driving and just cruising around. I had a done the "normal" work to my '07 so the power was pretty close to the new C7. Not looking for anyone to make the decision for me, just to throw their $.02 in.
Cheers!

Personally, id just say go with a C7 because its significantly newer. Its all the car you need. I have a 2015 Z51 A8 and still cant stop grinning when driving it!

Having owned a 2011 and 2014 I would take the 2014. I miss the 2011 but 2014 has features and performance that still amaze me. My grandsport was fun but my z51 is a step into the future and the change is great.

Had an '08 C6-A6 w/Z06 exhaust, and absolutely loved that car/sound.
That said, I'd never go back in time that far (2011 as you state, that model is now 5 years old). Even 2014 is 2 years old, but a much better Corvette. Decide what it is you really want. Best to you.

Time to embrace the new generation, so it has to be the C7.

Do you want something people love and take picks everywhere? ? Or do you want a car from 7byrs ago that people will say man the c7 is so much better. ....It is so much better than the c6. Dont do it. Or buy a base z06 if you can find one and get a small discount you will win .. up to you but its almost a silly question

If nothing else the C7 has a much better chassis. The fact is the C7 Z06 with T tops is stiffer then the C6 with non remove able panels. What that amounts to is a much better handling car. I am not one to stir the pot but technology is what it is and when the C8 comes along there will be improvements. Life goes on.....

I traded a 2009 Z on a 2014 2LT, Z51, mag drive and I'm not looking forward to the agenda I face when I track it. The old Z? Run it, gun, put gas in it and run some more. It was just a beast. Take away the tracking and I'd go with the 2014 as it really is unbelievable car and I don't think you'll regret it. For the track, I miss the Z.
No flames, please--just my .02

I went from a 2013 427 Vert. (m6)To a 2015 Z51 Coupe (A8)and could not be happier. The difference is night and day both feel and Technology wise. Did not think that way until I took a C7 on a test drive. Either way however you will still have one heck of a car. Good luck with your decision.

Go with the Carbon. Its a special beast and very few were made. The combination of the cc brakes, light weight and high reving 427 makes the car feel extremely nimble and fast. Btw..the interior on the carbon is very nice too with lots of Alcantara if you are into that. Ditch the pos nav/radio though.

That's a tough decision. The C6 Z07 is one heck of a car with ZR1 brakes, aero package and a super engine ... ready for the track or spirited driving. The C7 has more creature comforts and new technology. They are both great, but it's all your preference and if their is a warranty on the Z07.

I was faced with this exact same crossroads. I had a 2005 for many years then sold it. For the money I was about to spend on a C7 I started thinking C6 Z or ZR1. However I just could not get myself to buy another C6 simply because of the new technology in the C7. Every time I sat back into a C6 it just felt so dated.
So I bought a 3LT Z51

This is another reason I love this forum! Thanks to everyone who has responded so far. It looks like I'm gonna have to fly to Texas this weekend to test drive both these beauties. And I promise, no flames for anyone. I just appreciate that you took the time to respond and give me your opinion.
For those that have driven/ridden in a C7, both with/without the sports seats, are they worth the $2500 option price? We all know how horrible the C6 seats were and it'd be a welcome change to have something that is more supportive. Just don't know how much difference there is between the standard and sports seats.
Thanks!
