Default HUD Tilted?

I've had my 15' C7 for about a month and noticed that the HUD seemed to be slightly tilted/not level from the day I picked it up. Didn't worry about it because I know there a lot curves and angles that may cause the illusion that it may be crooked but my wife pointed out the same thing the other day. So I had my salesman sit in my car and he said it looked slightly cocked to him also. We sat in one on the showroom and it was the same as mine.....down on the right side.

This doesn't bother me enough to have the service guys rip into my dash but.... just curious....

Has anyone else noticed this?

I really think this is an optical illusion caused by the shape of the hood. Park your car perpendicular to a brick wall (or other wall that has horizontal lines). Be sure the parking surface and wall are level. Now take a look at the HUD and see how it aligns with the horizontal lines on the wall.

Or you could back it in your garage and close the door. Use the break between the door as your horizontal lines. Might work.......Garage floor should be level enough.

It's tilted. The cause is the windshield shape changes how it looks. The tilt changes depending if the HUD is at the lowest or highest setting on the windshield.

OK....like russmo5 said...the tilt varies depending on where the display is set (farther down the more tilt) I did the stop the garage door trick and compare to the display and it becomes evident that there is tilt, depending on placement of the display.
Thanks for everyone's input.

It's not the same on every car. Mine is definitely tilted while my friend's virtually straight.

Mine is tilted also, as was another one on the showroom floor.
Don't seem to notice it though, the more I drive it

Some maybe close to level but others are not. Mine is definitely tilted. No illusion.

As I state before, the higher it is on the windshield the more it is titled. I took delivery October 2013 and it bothers me less now than it did initially. I really don't want to have the dealer taking my dash apart.

It appears tilted to the right the same on my '14 C7 as it was on my '05 C6. Looks like it has been this way far too long IMO. If it is this way on most if not all C7s, I would think it is time for there to be a HUD adjustment capability added to compensate and tune it level on an individual basis just like we can raise and lower the image in the windshield.

Tilted down to the right here. Bothering me so much I have to change the HUD to just show the MPH as the RPM curve makes the tilt too obvious. Song titles showing up also show how bad the tilt is. My BMW had a rotate feature - sure wish this did as well.

How did you get song titles to show in hud?? I had no idea that could happen.

Corvette Customer Service on CF?
Yes, Corvette Customer Service should weigh in here. There ought to be a simple fix / user adjustment / fix to the assembly line. It should certainly not be variable from car to car.

Not sure. Only had the car for three days but it's done it ever since I had it. Maybe only when changing tracks? I'll have to check on my way to work tomorrow. I have a '15 if that makes any difference (don't think they added anything to the HUD, but not certain)
