Sales person reasoning for not getting mag ride on Z51

Sales person reasoning for not getting mag ride on Z51
I inquired about options on in stock and told him I wasn't interested because it didn't have mag ride control. The response I got was:
Is there a specific reason you need the mag ride? Are you planning on tracking the car or is it just something that you want just to have it? The reason I ask is because if you never plan on taking the car to the track, you will never feel any difference in how it drives on a day to day basis. Don't get me wrong, the mag ride is amazing, but you can save some money and get a car that is very close to what you are wanting, subtracting one feature. But again if you are planning on tracking the car, then my argument is not going to help.
I have read quite a bit and never heard this. I guess it is just typical bs from a salesman.

My 2006 C6 had mag ride, my 2012 CTS-V sedan has mag ride. I can definitely tell the difference on different pavement roughness. My C7 will have mag ride.

frankly except for the fact "you'll never feel it on the road", I don't think his answer was that bad, in comparison with some of the the trash spewed we've heard here, by sales guys...

It's got to be hard for them to sell cars that people are so specific about what they want. There was one near me that was perfect but didn't have NPP exhaust so I ordered one that did. That car has been in the dealer's showroom since 11/3 when they opened.

I detect little change between settings on my 427 vert.
However, the C7's system seems to be a head & shoulders improvement. I'll run it in Sport on good highways, but after getting off the highway I notice the ride is considerably better in tour mode. The difference is immediate and noticable. I'd say the Corvette team nailed it.

I agree with those who say the guy was just trying to sell one of their cars out of inventory. The first salesperson I dealt with said almost exactly the same thing! Fortunately, I have a friend with a new C7 that has mag ride and he told me he absolutely loves it, so the car I ordered was spec'd with mag ride! Still waiting for delivery, but I'm confident I made the right decision based on all the favorable comments I've read.

Dissenting view here - I think the salesman actually presented a reasonable viewpoint. As you might guess, my Z51 does NOT have mag ride. You can spin this any way you want depending on what your opinion of the option is. Some might say the mag ride owners are just looking for justification for their purchase............

Just doing his job and giving his opinion, not completely off the mark either.

I chose not to order mag ride for 2 reasons. One was that I was not going to spend a lot of time at the track, and the 2nd reason is that living in FL the roads are pretty smooth, and I would not have really noticed it as much as someone who lives up north and crappier roads.
I also guess it depends on your age/what you are looking for from the car. I've heard guys on here disappointed that it doesn't drive as smooth as their luxury car does, which it shouldn't it's a sports car.
So I would not say that the salesman was complete being untruthful. I'm sure he wanted to make a sale, but his answers were not that misleading.

My .02 on this is that you need to take a small trip. I hope you have already driven the car the dealer has available, now go to another dealer and drive one with magnetic ride. You decide what you need and what you don't need on the car.

The sales person is just trying to push what he has.
If you track the MRC is a great option. If you have bad roads the MRC is a great option. If you have a bad back (like me) the MRC is a great option.
