Default Transmission temperature gauge

Driving around in my Z51 M7 with one of my pocket gauges set for Transmission temperature. I noticed while after driving around 25-30 miles just cruising that the gauge was just off the 100 degree mark. I'm thinking that's very low. Have any of you checked your trans/temp gauges and had the same results? Thanks for you time and replies.

Mine is the same in the winter. In the summer it moves up more quickly but unless I'm having fun and downshifting in a lot of corners etc, it still doesn't get very warm. Expect you need to be tracking to get it hot.

My readings are surprisingly low, what you report seems quite reasonable. Think the fact that the transmission is in the rear (transaxle) and separated from engine heat leads to slow temperature buildup.

Would seem to suggest a long life for the transmission when used in normal driving conditions. Don

My vette is stored for the winter and I don't remember the temp range but I was driving across the So. Cal. desert in Sept with the air temp. at 112. After several hours of 80 mph. driving, I noticed my mm7 trans. temp. was just under the red caution bars. It never hit them but stayed just under.

Mine behaves the same. I wish it would warm up faster. Maybe the shifting would improve a bit.
