Shark Gray...Love It In Pics...Disappointed In Person

Finally had the opportunity to see the new shark gray at my dealer. I have loved it from day one in pictures, but in person it left me cold. It seemed just too non descript...just a bit blah. I much prefer cyber gray. I think I have seen the C7 in person in most available colors, and, IMO, this car looks FAR better in black with a black 3LT interior than in any other color. Especially if a convertible is in the conversation. So now the only decision I have to make prior to ordering is it going to be a triple black manual tranny Z51 3LT Sting Ray convertible, or a triple black manual tranny 3LZ Z06 convertible. Daily driver, no track...what to do????? And to really confuse the issue, rumor has it that in the latter part of next year a Grand Sport Sting Ray will be offered. Decisions, decisions.

I went with the Shark Gray with Gray interior, looks nice. would of gone with White if no Shark Gray. Love silver but did not want the same color again.

i wonder if it's the same color they used in 2010 on the Yukon Denali.. they called it "storm" grey Metallic.
i bought one new, when the color was first coming out and saw it on line thinking i could have a Denali in a color nobody had.. when i got to the dealer it looked very brownish inside the shop.. but i liked it..
it even had the cocoa and cashmere interior which looked odd to some.
it looked very grey in sunlight but at certain times of day or under certain lighting it looked taupe or had a brownish hue to it... i loved that truck color and it got the same mixed reactions from people. love it or didn't know what to make of it!
here's the brownish look
the house in the background with tan beige siding changes the whole look even more to a brownish hue
back to grey

same car, different degrees of sunlight or shade
In the first picture it almost looks like silver, this is not what the eye typically sees. Second picture, partly cloudy day, it almost looks like my old cyber gray, this is not what the eye typically sees either. The final picture is the true color imho, the hint of brown tint coming through which reminds me a bit of the old pewter. To me this is what the car typically looks like under most natural lighting circumstances.

I like the color-it's classy looking. I'm not a fan of black wheels. But they look good on this color. I still like the non-black wheels better on it.

Everyone has their own opinion on what colors look good. I happen to like the look of the Shark Gray color on the C7, especially when combined with a red interior.

Instead, why not feel good - picking what you like; and supporting others that do the same.

My Shark Gray Stingray draws a ton of compliments from people who say they love the color. It really surprised me how often someone compliments the color. I like it too, although I decided to order Blade Silver on my Z06. Tough choice that came down to a slight degree of personal preference after owning both colors.

Interesting comment. I have been thinking that black with kahahari interior may look really stunning, but I have not, as of yet, seen that color combo. I would like to see it in a convertible with the top down.

I am very glad I rushed out and ordered my CG 2014 when I did because personally I wouldn't have bought a Shark Grey C7. It's too bad they dropped the color; they should have both. SG has too much brown in it for my taste.
Glad others like it! To each their own!
