Default Loved Her But She's Gone

Well, my 2015 C7 Z51 is no longer.

Amazing car for the few months I owned her but I couldn't deal with the acrobatic routine getting in and out. It was literally causing me pain.

I'm 6'3" and 250 lbs and there was nothing I could do to get comfortable in the car. It was my 11th Vette and the 1st one I couldn't get comfortable in.

BTW, it was a 2LT so all of the tech and seat adjustments were there, as well as all of the memory functions.

I went and got a 2015 Lexus RC F today. Obviously the build quality is outrageous and the level of luxury and room outpaces the C7.

But even with 467 HP, the RC F couldn't even keep a C7's tail lights in sight. THE VETTE is so much faster.

But I'm happy

Enjoy the car! Seems like with almost 4,000 lbs. and a lot less torque maybe due to the DOHC design, it feels less gutsy. Then again, more pounds does count for something.

Nice alternative. Though the C7 seats seem to fit me perfectly even with the non adjustable 1LT, I can see them being a problem for larger taller people for sure.

You know, you got to do what you got to do. If you were getting pain just sitting in the car, then it had to go. Enjoy your new ride, who knows, you might be back later when the next generation is released.

I've read a lot of posts from large drivers having difficulty fitting comfortably in the C7. You would think that with all the years and $ that GM put into R&D for the new vette, they would have paid more attention to comfortably accommodating the larger driver.

At the expense of the average sized driver? Seems to me that they finally got it right.

Not sure what you meant by "at the expense of the average sized driver". A lot of the larger sized drivers that indicate they are not comfortable in the C7 say that they were comfortable in previous generations, so I'm not sure what expense GM spared by not doing a better job of accommodating the larger driver.

Meaning I like that the seats fit me (and all the other average-sized drivers). I've never owned another vette but everything I've read in magazines and on here says that average-sized drivers are overwhelmingly in favour of the new seats.

Luckily, I'm under 6ft. I could see fitting this car being a problem if I was taller. The cockpit is definitely tight.

You should have gone with a Jaguar XKR! Oh well, best wishes.

I owned a 2008 Jaguar XK convertible.

The good: Drop dead gorgeous car; "class" oozed from every inch.

The bad: Biggest piece of sh-t, unreliable, heartbreaking, pathetic excuse for an automobile I have ever owned. Makes a Yugo look like gold...

Personally, I’m tired of accommodation. Off the shelf shirts leave me with baggy apparel on my 6’ 2” 183# frame, way too much that I have to tuck. Same with baggy trou so I’m not concerned that the Vette doesn’t fit everyone well. Don

I'm sure someone can retrofit a C5 seat in there.

Agreed! If they build a better product then it's a challenge to the US car makers to match or surpass the competition. I love my C7 but the paint quality is really bottom of the barrel. My $17K Cruze and Scion tC had near perfect paint jobs. I can spot several imperfections in my C7's paint. 2 of which should have never made it out of the factory if there was true quality and pride in the build process.
