When I put gas into my 2015 the pump keeps shutting off
I have 1300 miles on my 2015. I have filled up at 3 different gas stations. The pump keeps shutting off at 2 stations. I have tried putting the nozzle in as far in as I could, holding back the fuel volume when as it goes in (this works at one station). One station this morning I tried NOT putting the nozzle in deep (worked but gas spilled out right before it shut off). At the QT station, I have no problems at all but the QT is not on my way to and from work. I tried searching this problem, it’s there but I could not find it. Please help.

I only have that problem on pumps that have a full sheath fume recovery system, where the nozzle is fully covered. New pumps without the recovery system pump fine. (Including one station that just switched over to the new style; problems before, none now.) What kind of nozzles are at your stations?

I have the same problem with both of my cars. I found that placing the nozzle all the way and then bringing it back about a half inch stopped the problem. Some pumps have hair triggers I think and almost any back pressure triggers an "off".

There is a second valve about 3 inches into the gas filler neck. Push the first one open and take a look and you will see it. So make sure you are getting the nozzle to open up both of them up fully...

Mine (2014) occasionally shuts of prematurely. At some stations have to reduce the flow of fuel with nozzle trigger to get the car to except fuel.

I am curious how much gas it will take when the gauge gets to empty.

Wow. I'm not the only one. The gas nozzles ends have coils that keep you from pushing the nozzle end further. I’ll try the sideways angle next time. Gasoline is a very strong solvent. I wonder how the clear tape at the front rear fender wheel stands up to this if the gasoline spills. I try not to think to loudly. Love this car.

This just happened to me today and another C7 pulled up behind me and saw that I was having a hard time. He told me to just let the handle hang down and it worked.

I thought I was stooopid the first few times the pump hose stopped often while gassing-up.....then I simply placed the hose straight-in the
C7 fill-opening, pressed down evenly on the pump-handle, and I've not had a problem since (10-12 fills). Old age sneaks up on you.

Try this:
Instead of pushing in as far as possible or holding it weird, simply put it in as you normally would, and push downward (very lightly) on the handle.
I was having this problem and realized that holding the handle upward makes it shutoff but holding it downward works like a charm at most stations.
