Thank you for your excellent report. Your experience is yet another example of how committed the Corvette team is to producing the best possible product and to constant improvement. Anyone who doubts this has never spent any time with these people; talking with the likes of Tadge, Harlan, Jeff, Kirk Bennion, Ryan Vaughn, and their teammates is all it takes to know that they are exceptionally competent people and that in them, the Corvette is in the best possible hands.
Sorry...

Thanks for getting off your a$$ and taking this project on. Also, kudos to the vette team for listening.

Thanks for doing this Jag.... You took a lot of crap for starting the petition.... Lots of comments about how useless it would be. As the saying goes, One never knows, until one tries. Thanks!!
Also nice to know Tadge and the others are just as concerned.
Hopefully my CRT '15 will show no OP......ok, I'll settle for a little.

Sorry,
"The lighter composite contributes to maximized performance. However, it also has a different surface shape and absorbs paint differently than the composite material used in the C6."
... does not fit with what I know about this business with my 35 years of experience.

I knew all along GM was working on these gremlins...it does take time to prove out new methods and materials; sometimes years. All auto companies function pretty much the same in this regard.

Jeremy,
Thanks you for doing this. It is good news that team Corvette, from the plant manager on up are working to improve this. Sounds like your efforts helped spur that along.
Thank you.

...had me scratchin' me noggin' too. Once cured, the surface cannot absorb paint, or any other liquid....it's cross-linked and non-absorbent. By 'different surface shape' may simply mean it is not completely flat, possibly wavy or bumpy on a small scale, which could be responsible for the orange peel.

It never hurts to show the concern of many of the owners to management. The addition of an additional primer coat shows they are listening and trying to correct the issue. It may not eliminate it but any step forward is a good sign.

I signed the petition and couldn't respond to the email that was sent......so THANK YOU here for starting it. While it will never be eliminated, I've personally seen one of the worst cars ever at a used Corvette dealership. It was white and you'd have thought they spray painted a basketball. It was horrible, and possibly the reason the owner had got rid of the car so soon. I'm planning on ordering a 2015 after the first of the year and am glad they are at least "trying" to solve the issue. Hopefully for those that have 2014s with the severe issues we've seen, they will get corrected.

Thank you. I signed the petition and appreciate your effort to say the least. There were many who responded in a harsh manner to your positive idea. There are those who think about things and there are those who take whatever proactive action they can. Nice job and most importantly I'm hoping my 15 with a tpw of 10/6 will get the TWO coats of primer!!! Lol. I love the saying" contempt prior to investigation" it applies to many topics in life.
