Interior/dash creakyness?

Interior/dash creakyness?
The interior on my 2lt z51 creaks a lot. Has anyone else had this problem? I think it's mostly coming from the dash but it's most noticeable at low speeds when cornering, going over speed bumps, stuff like that. It make you think the frame of the car flexing which is concerning considering the C7 is supposed to be so much more stiff than previous generations.

I have a rattle on my dash and on passenger that the dealer has unsuccessfully tried to identify. It's annoying the hell out of me and the most disappointing thing in this car. I love everything about this car but these rattles are very disappointing, especially when my dealer has given up.

I have had similar vibrations coming from the dash area. I shut down the AC and the fan and it seemed to go away then came back when I turned the AC and fan back on. It going in to Kerbeck's next week. They told me that they had not seen the problem before. I will keep you posted.

Note to self: if I ever have a dealer " give up" on a actual bonified problem, it's time to find a new dealer.....

It's a plastic car! If it doesn't rattle now, it will soon enough. You should ride in my C4. Like driving a bowl of Rice Krispies. Solution is to turn the audio system up really loud!

This isn't a rattle though. It more like the dash is loose. like it's been removed and put back and it's lost the tightness it had new. What worries me is it happens when turning the most, like the torsional rigidity of the frame is compromised. I guessing it's just that the dash wasn't seated well but I hear creaks from other parts of the car so that's what has me concerned it's the frame. cracked or missing welds is the only thing I can think off that would account for that sort of thing. Which would be a major issue of the highest order.
I'm really hoping some of you have had the same problem and it's a know issue that's not big deal. I've already had a wheel bearing replaced and has a lot of black liquid coming out of the tail pipes that needs to be checked out. I'm beginning to think I got a lemon

I guess those 10 bolts securing the magnesium frame of the roof to the windshield header and the B pillar "roll bar" do the job, even with my C6 Z06 "weak" main frame. LOL
Comparing a C5/C6/C7 to a C4 is laughable.

I know the older Corvettes came with a lot of rattles cause of the plastic nature of the car. But in 2014 this should not be the case. They should ride like a 747. I have never had a rattle in the dash of any car in the last 15 years. That includes a Ford GT I had in 2006 which was a mixture of many elements and a total new design.

Put black felt furniture pads between where the dash meets the aluminum around the curve near the grab handle. Trust me. quiet as a mouse.
It's these 2 hard surfaces that rub against each other that make the rattle your talking about. I used the smallest felt dots possible and you can not see them at all.

My C7 developed a slight rattle emanating from the dash about half way through our drive across the US. Had my wife listen for a bit and figured out it came from the adjustable vent just above the infotainment screen. Move the vent a bit and it went away for the remainder our drive, no further issues.

I will post a pic later of exactly where I put them. Here's a link to the product I used though. You must use the smallest size dots it comes with.

Just stating a fact, as far as I'm concerned. Flexy body and creaking went away with the C5 on. Totally different animal from that standpoint. The new cars should not creak, especially when new. That said my C6 did develop a creak early on that took a long time to pin down; it was the center stack bzel shifting under cornering. Fixed with foam.
I have to say that I'm suprised to read many of the same grump areas as the early C6 had: irritating dash noises, roof issues, seats, paint, dead battery, etc etc. I guess 10 years is not a long time at GM to correct issues... It's like the C6 all over again.

C4 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
My 09 Z06 has 37,000 miles on it and has been driven on some pretty rough roads(some were damn rough, like in Vermont and Michigan) with it's stiff suspension. It has zero rattles, creaks, etc. My Z06 does not flex like an old C4. The C5 was a huge improvement over the C4 and my C5 coupe never had the rattles, creaks, etc. My C6 is an improvement over the C5(especially the C6 Z06's bolted in roof).
I guess those 10 bolts securing the magnesium frame of the roof to the windshield header and the B pillar "roll bar" do the job, even with my C6 Z06 "weak" main frame. LOL

I don't know about that, my 95 C4 has 130K on it and does not squeak or rattle and it actually MORE FUN to drive than my 04 or my friends 08 Z06. I didn't say it was faster or quicker I said it was more FUN to drive.

My dash squeaks like an old bed.
VERY annoying, but I sure as heck don't want dealer techs ripping my dash apart looking for it. Just cuz they're ASE certified, doesn't mean they're competent where Corvettes are concerned.
Just going to turn the radio up for now.

Just returned from 4000 mile trip in my c7 auto6. Have 15000miles on it. Took it in to dealer for lube service and a rattle in the dash passenger side speaker and rattle in passenger side door panel. Service report states right door trim panel loose and rattling on outer panel--R&R door trim to insulate and secure panels. Right side speaker on dash rattles--R&R molding to insulate and secure. I drove it over a hundred miles with no rattles. Hope this helps those with rattling concerns!
