Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic (Fuel Door Sample)
This is a shot of a fuel door on display at Carlisle from the GM Engineers Tent. My parents are at the show and managed to get a (supervised) shot of it in the "sun light" (pretty overcast there today). It is the new Daytona SunRISE Orange Metallic.
It's a pretty deep orange, and I definitely see how in a passing glance you might think it was CRM without a direct comparison.

Based on that photo, I'm not liking it. Too dark.

I thought the same thing, but then I thought about my NRB. Its very muted on overcast days, BRILLIANT in direct sun. Also, it is a cell phone shot, so there's that too.

too dark however having owned a Grand Sport in Inferno orange the paint will "move" and change depending on your angle and that of the light (sun).
How accurate is our source here??

I'll wait to pass judgement until I can see the whole car - I like the orange color but really wish they would have just brought back the Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic.

Looks like it's another color that's going to vary greatly depending on lighting. GM sure is funny about displaying new colors. Remember for LRG all we had for a long time was the picture of a hood? For DSOM, we get a fuel door.

They should have kept Green.

Hard to tell what it will look like. I have a Crystal Red and it changes so much because of the light conditions. At least the example didn't have any orange peel.

Well, how accurate is anything on the internet? Not trying to throw stones here but a very reputable and highly respected forum member posted pics certifying beyond any shadow of a doubt that their pic was a DSrOM car. Turned out it was shopped, albeit a very good shop at that. They didn't do it so they didn't really know, they just thought they had it right. Anyway, trust what you choose. You won't hurt my feelings.
