Default When the 2015's start to ship

Does anyone know how many cars they normally ship in 1 day ?

Just thinking, if they produce 180 cars per day, they must be able to ship at least 180 per day otherwise their lot would fill up quickly,

Just a curious question.

With about 1500 built.. maybe 120 doing museum delivery.. and 11 Vettes per truck.. they only need about

125 trucks and drivers.

So they would need about 16 - 17 trucks to ship 180 cars per day.

Is that really the number ?

Don't a lot of them get shipped to a rail yard to be loaded on a train?

I was just told by a contact of mine that the Lot will hold aprox 2400 cars not 1400 like many of us thought... including me..

They also told me that the Big Wigs from corporate where having a meeting and audit tomorrow - Friday 8/22/14 and thats when they will decide wether to release the cars or to extend the QC Hold...

If they say go it will be Next week before any leave the plant.

Thanks for the insight. Can you please follow up with your insider friend tomorrow after their meeting and report back to the rest of us in the dark? Thanks!

It would be nice to get an exact figure. Here's the plant manager last year talking about the Nashville fiasco.. at the 2:30 mark he mentions his lot holds 1100 cars..

If this picture is of the 2015's, that one on top at the back could be mine.

So Now we are all really Confused, I had it at 1,400, FCCCVPMan's source now says 2,400 & the Video with The Plant Manager, saying his "shipping Area holds 1,100?? Maybe the "Shipping Area" is not the Whole Lot?
I measured it quickly with Goggle Earth the other day and got 820' x 602', if I remember right. So we need to double check that measurement compute the Area, find the exact unit of space the C7 takes up, allow for inches between each front/back & sides, one or 2 drive lanes and see how many C7s will fit "Tight", and then slack up from there to reality!
Anyone game, Don't make me do it, please!

I have never seen an exact number, but 1100 is half and does not include the Cadillac holding lot. Yes, there was a time when Cadillac used Bowling Green for its own purposes. I guess 2500 to 3000 before something must be done.

My long time prediction was and is units would be loaded and on the road the weekend leading up to Labor Day. But I also insisted the official start of 2015 production would be Monday August 11 at the same time a fellow member was posting his 2015 was rolling off the line.

Dave Tatman is no longer the Plant Manager. Jeffrey Lamarche took over earlier this year.

I said 2400 but he gave me a exact number of 2415 but how he knows the exact number is strange to me so I'd say 2400 is a good number. I will text him tomorrow and see if he has any answers.

Perfect. I'm trying to find Felix Unger to see if he can get on it right away. Oscar Madison isn't much help with these critical issues as he's got enough to do keeping the sandwiches secure in his armpits.

You think maybe he brought some more lot size with him?

Edge to edge, it looks like they could do about 28 rows of about 50 cars if you maintained an aisle between every other row of cars. That would be 1400, but you'd have to deduct quite a few because the lot isn't completely open. You could cram more cars in if you didn't have lanes between the cars, but then you'd have a hell of a time getting cars grouped for the semis. It would be like car Jenga.

If that is true, then it adds more to the BS story that GM Gave us last year for the 2014 launch. They said the lot held some 1400 cars and the lot was full around 9/15/14 or so, about 20 days of production and they had to ship cars to Nashville because the lot was full.

I think your source is wrong, is it the same source that Drake had last year? LMAO
