Stingray/Siri integration
#41
Not sure why I haven't seen much posted about this. Searched a bit and all I can find are old posts complaining that we don't have it. What that tells me is that owners don't know that they have it. Well, actually we do.
My vehicle is a 2014 Stingray built October of 2013 with factory calibrations, The only flash completed is PI1101B to adjust the IP illumination. OnStar disabled, OnStar phone minutes deactivated for reference.
As you can see in the videos, select the "Phone app" (the one with the microphone, not the handset) from the main infortainment screen. Press the large "Start" button to the right and listen for the Siri tone to play over the speakers. Now, use Siri like you are used to using from your iPhone. It will also find routing information with your built in Map app but the results are displayed on the phone screen, not the navigation screen.

Ah, you have a non-Nav car. I didn't realize it but without nav, it looks like no Siri integration. I'm assuming that the SMS button will only work with the 4G feature of the car. I don't have any experience with your trim level. Just to make sure, do you have your phone paired to the car?

I don't know about using it by going through the Nav screen but Siri will work if your phone is paired and you press the voice recognition button on the steering wheel on 2015s.

Holding the button works on my 2015. One of the times, system stated I couldn't perform that function while driving. Made me laugh. It only happened once.

I also got Siri to work on my 2015 by holding the phone button on the steering wheel like I would hold the main button on my iPhone5. The navigation screen has a text icon, but I think that must be for the OnStar phone.
Anyway, thanks guys for this thread. Otherwise I wouldn't have known that I can use Siri hands free this way.
