Default On the fence keeping the C6 or moving up to C7

Group,
I posed this question to the C-6 forum with mixed results, so I will ask the C-7 forum a similar question. I currently have a 07 Z-51 black coupe that I purchased this year; love the car as it is my first Corvette and now I have the Corvette bug and love the look of the new C-7. So my question is there a huge difference in the ride, power, (I know the electronics are far superior) but not sure all the gimmicks are worth the cost? Looking at all the discounting coming up on the 2014 models has me tempted; so looking for viewpoints from this group. Additionally, seeing the prices drop from the mega dealers in August and I suspect they will continue to discount over the next couple of months with limited choices available?
Thanking everyone in advance on this topic.

Now that they are available for rent, it might be a good investment to make a trip to somewhere and check one out for a day.

You either want one or you don't. If you can't make up your mind, then the C7 isn't a big enough deal for you.

You are likely to get mixed reviews here as well. On the C6 side of the forum you are going to get members that love their C6 (like most of us did) and those that hate the C7 (looks, hype, square tail lights), etc and the handful of folks that are like you and on the fence.

On the C7 side of the forum you are going to get those of us that love our C7 and those that hate the C7 (looks, hype, square tail lights, jealous C6 owners (small minority), non-owners who like to hate and a few that are like you and on the fence but choose to post over here vs. over there.

As an owner of the previous three generations, this is my favorite Corvette so far. The power gain is very noticeable. The ride and handling is improved. The steering and braking are improved. The electronics and systems are current technology and the fun factor is off the charts. I find this car to be good at everything it does and it is the most confidence inspiring Corvette ever behind the wheel.

I absolutely loved my C6. I missed it when I sold it but I haven't looked back since I brought home my C7. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to do it again.

OP - if you can swing it, do both. I.e. keep the 6 and get a 7. Corvettes from each gen are distinct in their own right, have their own gen-specific personality (while still being Corvettes) and all are fun to own/drive.

I sold my 2011 Grand Sport and bought a C7 convertible. The difference is night and day. This is definitely the best Corvette ever made.

Good info here and I agree with the other posters. Had an '08 which I thought was a great improvement over my C5's and I loved the C6. The style change made up my mind for me....GOTTA HAVE ONE!!!
Am very happy I did so. Car is a significant improvement. Killer interior and seats vastly improved. I've had mine for just under 3 months and am still learning the electronics....too damn old to pick this up quickly.
As to power, it's awesome. Feels like it has over 500 ponies to me.
If you still want my vote?? It's not only yes, it's HELL YES.
Have never had a car that got this much attention and endless questions no matter where I stop.
One caution, when people gather around your car, keep them away a bit as they tend to drool all over it.

If C7 isn't the best base level Corvette made, GM has messed up badly.

However, it's not like the C6 is a Sopwith Camel and the C7 an F-22, as I believe someone else suggested.

More like F-15 and F-22.

Why? All the C6 would do is sit around because the C7 begs to be driven.

Yes. It's worth it. I had a modded '04 ; engine, suspension, brakes, wheels, interior.
All I did to it and it doesn't compare to my stock C7. As much as I put into my '04, the time and money, I wouldn't trade back to it. The C7 IS THAT GOOD!!
