2014 vs 2015

1. 10th digit of the VIN indicates model year.
2. If the car is Cyber Gray or Lime Rock Green it is a 2014
3. If the car is Shark Gray or the new Orange, it is a 2015
That's all I've got for a no-options car.

Read that something to do with the display on the dash and you can not do a flash to update the 14.

So it sounds like you found a 2014 and are thinking about it. Get at least 20% off other wise not worth it. Can get supplier price (about 9%), 2014 depreciation at least additional 10-15% depending, so you can see might be best to get 2015.

6-speed auto = 2014
8-speed auto = 2015
Not sure how apparent this would be to the casual onlooker though.
Aside from that, just exterior colors and wheels are the most obvious visual indicators.

Well there are some new color choice and rim choices. Also he 2014 has a nice depreciation factor at this point.

This ATX guy never seems to miss a chance to talk about how badly the 2014 C7 has depreciated. He must be seeing a lot better deals than I've seen.

Perhaps he's a potential used 2014 buyer that thinks the more he talks about a high depreciation rate the better chances the 2014 has of magically depreciating that much.

All C7s will depreciate. Just like all C6s depreciate. The rate of depreciation of a '14 and a '15 will be pretty much the same.
If you buy one of the last '14s it will be a very low mileage car compared to most other 14s so will hold its value better.
If you buy one of the first 15s it will be a high mileage car compared to most other 15s so will lose more value in comparison.
I would offer that if resale value is high on the list of things you consider in buying a new Corvette, perhaps you should consider purchasing a different car.

And he's missing or ignoring some things, for example:
