Oil change at Jiffy Lube?

Because some dealers like my local one won’t change it for you until the oil life monitor is at 20% or when a year has passed. Too long for me. If they offered 4 changes when I wanted one, it might be a different story and in any event in my opinion, Mobil 1 Extended is better than synthetic blend Dexos. Don

Your avitar says you are from the San Francisco Bay Area. Good heavens man there must be 15 dealers within 30 miles from you, and you can't find ONE that will do your oil change, other than your "local" dealer? Boardwalk Chevrolet down the peninsula has a good Corvette reputation. Dealers in CoCo County (Walnut Creek)? Just want a non-dealer? Check with Roger Krause in Castro Valley. Like was said before, there are a number of Corvette Clubs in the Bay Area you could check their members for recommendations. One I'm most familiar with is the NCCA (Northern Calif. Corvette Assoc.) Google them or Camino Corvettes (if they still exist - its been 20 years since I've lived in the Bay Area). Hope you can find someone.

Is there anything 'special' about having the oil changed by one of these quick stop oil changers vs bringing into the dealer? Anything I should tell them don't do this or be sure and do that?
Yes, I know, I know but I'm not a mechanic nor do I really want to take my car to my local dealer as they have very (very) poor ratings/customer service. So much so I ended up canceling my order and having my car shipped from the east coast. I don't care about the free oil change and will only bring my car to the dealer for warranty work in which case I will have to have it towed/trucked 60 miles out to avoid local dealer.
Thanks for any pointers!!

We had a new 2014 Buick LaCrosse towed into one of our dealers from JL, after a JL oil change. The engine had zero oil and the transaxle was 6 quarts over filled. And not with Dexron VI.
As it turns out, the engine oil fill and the transmission oil fill are two separate openings. Go figure! I guess the "lube tech" was trained on a motorcycle.
One engine and one transaxle please.

Oil change
Take your car to the dealer. This is not brain surgery. You have an expensive sports car, don't underestimate the quality work a dealer does. I only take my grand sport to the dealer. JUST DO IT!!!!!

As has been quoted many times above, stay as far away from the cheapos as you can. If you don't have a Chev dealer that you can trust, find a good Cadillac dealer. You will probably have to bring in a proper oil filter, but they use Dexos oil and should be well trained....absolutely better than any Jiffy Lube.

We, my son and I, change the oil in all of our cars. It takes time, especially the vettes, but is time well spent and financially rewarding, not to sound cheap!! We love looking under the cars and seeing what's going on...

A few years ago there was a post on here of a guy who brought his C6 to a J/L and the C6 owner asked the tech if he had ever changed the oil on a Vette before. The tech said yes and then proceeded to try to open the hood from the front. Needless to say the C6 owner bolted out of there quickly.

Why would you want to trust giving your car to a hormone charged adolescent with an air impact wrench? Do you think he cares about torque settings? Do you think he knows about cross threading? Does he know or care about what happens if the vehicle is overfilled?
