2015 with or without Magnetic Ride
Ok newbie here about ready to order my 2015. I have everything decided, other than if I really need the Magnetic Ride or not. Can anyone elaborate more for me. I have some saying it is a must, others say do not notice a difference (mostly dealers) Thank you all!

Got it in my 2014. Thought about not getting it in 2015, then quickly realized that would be a mistake. It makes a difference, and certainly come resale time.
Do it--$1795 is nothing and money well spent for what you get. Would get that over the silly NAV system that was worthless (pretty much) on my 2014.

Consensus here is you don't NEED it unless you are tracking the car. However, the consensus is also MSRC is a highly desirable option. I have it on my C7 and can tell you that it is much fun moving from Tour to Sport to Track and feeling the entire personality and ride of the car change between the modes. Very much worth the cost IMO.
Finally, I had this option on my 2006 C6 and in the 95,000 miles I drove that car had -0- maintenance issues or costs related to the MSRC.

Plus it looks like the mag ride adds alot of pounds!
Same car weighed 3411 with mag ride and others with out were 3350/3362! I'll do with out!

I can't think of a time anyone would take it out of the softest setting, unless they were on a track, or they like to be jiggled around on the U.S.'s decaying roads. How often is that going to be?
I'd love to see some track times with and without MRC. I'll bet it's not much of a difference.

Get the mag ride. Ferrari thinks enough of it to pay GM for the rights to use it in their cars. I got it on my 2014 and love it. I can adjust the ride from Touring (relatively soft) to Track (teeth jarring). Normally I ride around in Sport mode. I got the Chevrolet extended warranty through Dennis Fichtner and it covers the shocks, which for mag ride is not insignificant.

It's availible on Z51 only! No z51 no mag ride! I have a Z51 without mag ride and find the fine huge bilstein's used are perfect.

Thank you for the info, that is funny , I never use Nav in my life I am 46 driving since 16, I think I will take that advise and get it. Even if I do not use it much having the option seems like a wise choice

My wife filled out the order form for her C7 w/Z51. I let her pick out the options she wanted and tried my best to keep my opinions out of the decisions. She is very technical and was crew chief of our race team when I was racing. She did a good job configuring the car. The only thing I would have done differently is order the manual instead of the automatic. She wanted the C7 as her daily driver and felt the automatic was a better choice. Hey, it's her ride and she got what she wanted.
She decided she didn't need the mag ride and left it off the order. The more I thought about it the more I thought it was a good idea to have it. Even if she ended up not using it she wouldn't regret not having it if she wanted it.
While we were waiting for a build date I called the dealer and had him add mag ride to the configuration.
Now that my wife has the C7 she is glad I added the mag ride, it completes the total package and doesn't add appreciable cost to a $70,000 car.

I plan on getting a Z51 C7 and am also unsure, my only concern is that I plan on lowering the car lower than just the stock bolts. I had a C6 Z51 and I cut the bushings in half to achieve the look I wanted and probably what I will have to do on the C7 after looking at some pictures. Not sure if that extra inch will defeat the purpose of the system.

Did not get this on our 2014. Took it on a 3200 mile trip and was no worse for the wear. However, I did order this on our new 2015. I would recommend it as it does increase the value of the car plus a smoother ride. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure why some say it's only needed if planning to Track the car ?
Tracks are usually flat all things considered, and public roads are definitely not.
MSRC makes the car more compliant on All types of roads and driving conditions.
And, it's not all about soft or hard with the settings.
It does it's magic in all settings and is Always working because it's not a static shock with only one reaction to road and driving conditions.
Regardless of which setting it's in, the shocks react and "change" to the speed, actions and forces put on the car in accordance with road conditions, speed, G forces and anything else the car encounters ...
especially rough roads where MSRC works to keeps the car in control way better than any static shock can.
To each their own but I don't plan on buying my next Corvette with out MSRC

Thank you for the detailed response, that makes a ton of sense to me. I am ordering mine tomorrow. Or at least getting on a list to order when they open it up. I am very excited again, the anticipation will be fun!

Yep. Just pls make sure your dealer has REAL allocations, otherwise it won't be so fun. Make sure they can get you in one by Oct, if not call a forum dealer and don't be stressed.
