Default Vented Seats

I took my car into the dealer beacuse the back of my drivers seat was not venting/cooling. They have been looking at it for 2 days now. They pulled a new one off the lot and it is doing the same thing, but others on the lot are not.

Anyone else have this issue, if so how was it fixed? My dealer has been contacting GM engineering to help figure it out.

Here's my take on this. My car was built 7/18 and delivered on 7/26. If you have the AC on and set to Bi-Mode the seat fan will pull that cold air up into the seat and "freeze" your butt and other parts. Wife and both commented how COLD they were. Maybe too COLD.

But if the AC is not on and just pulling in ambient air you most likely won't feel much with normal clothing.

That's how my Stingray operates as did our 2011 CTS-V. There were ton's of posts over on the V forums over the same issue and the consensus is the AC needs to be ON.

They suck because they are not cooled, Ventilated is just pulls out ambient air. As AFVETTE stated, if you put the car full blast air you will get some cooled air.

I've found out that it's all about your seating position in the seat too. If you slouch a little bit, your butt actually blocks a good portion of the vents on the seat bottom, if you sit up straight and have your back straight and against the seat back you can feel it working better.

The problem is you have these fans that are just blowing warm air that is inside the seat compartment in the seat back. I wish GM would just throw the cooled seat module in the Corvettes, it's maybe .25 lbs heavier so a total of 1lb to the entire car! I'm going to try to retrofit the cooled seats in my 2015.

For the first few months I could feel the air coming out the back of my seat, now there is no air coming out the back of the seat.

To be honest I've never had a car where the seat vents really do anything. Have a '15 S550 and it actually does work, but not even that great. '14 C7 vent seats are a joke to me. Basically do nothing.

When I did the Ron Fellows driving course, the vented seats worked great. My seat does not work. Get the air from the seat bottom, but do not feel any air from the seat back (it worked when I first got the car). The cooling is supposed to work best when you are sweating and it cools by evaporation. However, when I get in after working out and sweating, it still doesn't cool the back of the seat, only the seat bottom. I plan to have it checked out next time I take it in for service. Interested in hearing what your dealer finds out.

Biggest problem I have with mine is; I forget about the cooling seats and fail to turn the feature on. Darn!

This is the first car I've had with this feature. Haven't noticed it but I'll check to see if I feel air coming out the back portion too.

Same problem with me. The driver side works as it should but the passenger seat gets no ventilation. I can hear and feel the fan running but no air. Maybe the fan is upside down! I have not been able to take it to the dealer yet but I'm also 12XXX.

Mine works as AFVETTE stated

I have yet to do so
,however I was wondering,
if someone farts in your Stingray,
would you notice it sooner with the vents on??

4300 miles and both seats ventilate just fine. In fact my wife remarks how cold it feels every time she turns it on. Hope they keep working, after reading this... I need it in TX in Summer.

Many Corvette owners are at an age where certain emission control problems occur

That’s my experience, don’t play games with sending AC air to the floor, just turn the vented seat controls on and it is quite noticeable. Don

Yea - it would be nice if they could be set to auto-on.

I've noticed seat back cooling is intermittent, or my shirt is too thick so I don't feel it.
