Verts with Grey Tops

I would advise against grey or tan or other "off" color top. Stick with black. Black is good contrast with any body color. It will also hide soil better than light colored tops.

If you have a light colored top (tan/grey) and use the vert for its intended purpose, you will have creases that you cannot hide...drove me to the coupe. The highly touted Ragtop stuff is a waste of $. Go w/ black...hides the creases better.

This was a pic of my 2001 with the lite oak top when the car was 10 years old and had around 95k miles on it. Being I live in Tucson the tops on my vettes are left down for 2-3 months straight some times and haven't had any problems with creases.
This was a photo that was taken one day after the top had been left down for 2 months straight on my 2007 convert and no creases showing.

Here's my 8 year old gray top. This was taken about a month ago. The first 5 years of it's life was on Oahu as my daily driver.. Top up and down almost daily.
Look at all the horrible wrinkles.

My C6 vert is gray on silver with gray interior. (profile pic) I love the color combo and it is not nearly as common as the black top but as the other posts have mentioned, the rub marks and creases are much more noticeable compared to black. My C7 will have a black top.

I had a grey top on my c6. If it had a crease i would wipe the side with a wet cloth and it would be gone in minutes.
I have a black top know and it shows dirt and lint pretty bad. You never saw the lint with the grey top it always looked much cleaner, even though i am sure the lint was there. just an observation after having black and grey.

Don't be afraid of a light colored top. Just take care of it, PROPERLY. My '05 grey-beige top has 200,000 miles on it, and it's been cycled many thousands of times, but does spend most of its time down while driven, and a good bit of time overnight, too, and it looks practically new.
My '14 has a Kalahari top, and I don't expect any different results if I care for it the same way.
(sorry for the continued thread drift)

I have cyber grey with grey top and red interior. I'll try and post a pic. I had a cashmere top for 6 yrs. no problems. I got a can of fabric protector from menards and sprayed with it. The only time my top is up is when I wash it. The fab protector makes the water bead.

After my first experience with a black top and black interior, I always go with grey top grey interior. These rag tops are made of a superior fabric that requires minimal effort to keep them top notch and most importantly, they stay cool in the extreme hot weather. It was painful to have black top/interior!!!
