Default Those with TPW's of 8-11

is anyone seriously thinking about touring the factory that week?

We are considering it

Yvonne and I have been there twice when C5's were being produced (one of those times was to see our 2002 being built; thanks to Sonny Kilgo)... and we also toured during the C6 run; so figured we might as well see C7's being produced. And why not during the same week ours might be made?

three tours a day; 8:30 AM, 11:30 AM, & 1:00 PM CT.

I have read remarks from some here, about going to the factory that week; wondering if anyone is really serious about it?

Default those with tpw of 8/12

I also have a target production week of Aug 11th for a Shark Grey Cvt....All you guys have to do if you want to watch your car get Built is contact the museum and arrange for a Buyer Tour.
Everytime I get a new Vette I do the Buyers Tour and usually the Abaum and never get tired of it.....
For me by the way its a trip from NY even though I always fly in....Harvey
PS.... BY THE WAY I WILL BE SELLING A NIGHT RACE BLUE CONVERTIBLE-KALAHARI INTERIOR AND TOP-6 SPEED Z51-ALL OPTIONS IF INTERESTED.

What I've been told:

it takes 2.5 days for a C7 to be built.

if...

(wow; that's a big if)

if they truly don't start '15 production until the opening hour of Monday August 11, then the first cars finished won't roll off the other end until Wednesday noon'ish.

Sure would like to know the actual day the car is supposed to start down the line.

Harv; it it was $50, I'd do it in a heartbeat !!!

I have already done that, back in the free "Sonny" days (we tipped him $50 ). It's not that important to see our actual car this time, just wanting to kill time before taking delivery; would be cool though - to be there the very day the car is being produced (even if we don't actually get to see it).

It would be unlikey they dont even start a 2015 till Monday. If they did any car infront of that car would be built in the same TPW and they would be 14' I have not seen anyone with a 14' with that TPW. So I would bet the 15' are going to start end of TPW 8/4 and finish in 8/11.

This is a guess based on what I have seen. I also dont expect them to have a large gap between a 14' and the firts 15' that car might be fun...

I would also like to fly in just for the day. If someone finds a contact please post it. I have two extra seats if someone in north FL has the same day.

We're considering Thursday or Friday the 15th for a factory visit.

It would be cool to meet-up with a few enthusiasts at the Museum Cafe; either before, inbetween, or after the tours.

Lets see how this pans out... I might try to arrange something.

Ya know, since CF no longer has their Cruise-Ins there... it would be great to still try to get together; and all of us with a TPW being 8-11-14... it's a perfect opportunity to for a GTG.

Again though; for Yvonne and I... it's not ultra critical we see our car during the public tour, but it would be great if it were to happen. Probably better odds winning the lottery

Remember this is a rolling model change only major change nav with camera. They will not let the line go empty they may space out an empty place or two to signal start change out nav radios for ones with camera and other small part changes.

Just to muddy the water a bit.
A friend of mine did the plant tour yesterday. The guy leading the tour said the first production day for the 2015s is August 15. My friend heard that very clearly and was paying attention because he also has a tpw of 8-11. I would have inquired further but he did not.
Some of the tour guides are college interns. I have heard them make wrong statements when I was there.
Let's hope this was one of those times.

Keep me posted. If I'm not traveling that week, I may meet you there. Prefer the 11:30 or 1 time slot.

If we had 20 people, we could get a private tour.
