Accessing the Air Cleaner...
After reading the owners manual and checked You Tube on line I finally decided to go ahead and put a K&N air filter in, removing the stock paper filter. It was a successful venture but you have to disassemble several pieces and remove them before you can access the air filter. Took about twenty minutes to complete the task, and you will need a 7mm socket, with long extension, a blade screwdriver and I believe a size 15 torque screwdriver to get to the airbox.
I highly recommend you watch ZIP's video on You Tube first, as they give you more information that what the owner's manual does. You really need to be careful about the waterlines that runs across the air cleaner to the radiator. Also the right hand lower screw holding the air panel onto the radiator is a little difficult to get too as that small water hose is in the way and you have no play to move it.
Have not seen this posted here, so thought I would share my experiences with you...have patience, take your time, don't force anything and you will be all right, not hard, just be careful.

I put in an airraid synth red filter a few months ago....
Observations:
After the first few tanks, no change in mpg
No discernible change in volume/sound
No discernible change in performance
The only advantage for me is it is cleanable.....

passing more air is a questionable trade. Remember when you fool with factory parts you may improve one function and upset another. The Corvette designers worked thousands of hours to ensure a reliable performance car.
