How many are there?????
How can one find out exactly how many of a particular C7 were built? My buddy has a Yellow Coupe, 3LT, Z51, automatic with "technically unavailable" Red interior. It had to get 2 GM overrides outside the dealership to approve that interior. Thinking you will be able to count on one hand how many of those were built. Production ends in a few weeks so final numbers should be available in September. Where do you find them??

The National Corvette Museum has been promising to offer this service for at least 6 years, but after talking with the staff there many times about the records for the C6, I doubt it will ever happen for any generation.

Total production of each option and each color will be available, but nothing that actually combines the options and colors. So, specifically for your example, we will know how many Yellow exteriors in total. We will know how many Red interiors in total. We will not know how many Yellow exterior with Red interior.
All that was required to get that combination was to add RPO D30 - Color Override to the order for $590.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. I think the yellow with a red interior is a pretty sharp looking combo on the car. Nothing wrong with being a little different than the rest of the crowd.

First showed up as a C5. He'll sure get noticed, but unless he plans on keeping it for a LONG LONG time I fear it's resale value will be diminished.
But you can count the number of these cars on one hand that's for sure.
And I wonder why GM won't release specific numbers of color/option combinations? I figure my 2014 LRG coupe with the ZF1 option will be one of a handful as well. Would be nice to know for sure.
GM are you listening?

Actually, GM now gives the production records to the National Corvette Museum - but they're all paper records. It would be a huge and expensive job to convert them all to a database.
I have what likely is one of the rarest C6s built, and I'd really like to know it's "status" just for the fun of it. At this point, it's just a rare depreciating asset.

The C5 Z06 offered a "modified red" interior with red seat inserts and lower doors and dash. It was offered with all exterior colors and was popular in yellow and blue Z06s. But to order a full red interior (carpeting and all) in a coupe or vert you had to specify D35 trim override at no charge. Quite a few "Ronald McDonald" cars were built in the C5 years.
When the C6 appeared it was stated that "only recommended color combinations" would be available. Still somebody pulled some strings and a couple of Lemans blue 2005 verts were built with dark precision red interiors.
In 2007 non-recommended combinations returned but no longer at no cost; the D35 option code was replaced by D30 at $590. 126 were sold that year, 189 in 2008, 71 in 2009, 86 in 2010, 58 in 2011, 58 in 2012. GM doesn't disclose the exact color combinations though. Each D30 option GM builds is $590 pure profit, it costs them nothing (neither does the color of caliper paint or wheel paint).
Brilliant marketing like this has allowed GM to offer a base Corvette coupe for around 50k. They don't make much profit on a no-option coupe. They offset it by offering personalization choices that cost GM nothing but some buyers are willing to pay a lot of $$ for .

Yellow with red has been around for a long time. In 1954 my Grandfather had a yellow El Dorado vert with red interior, I loved that car. Jean Seaberg, of "Joan of Arch" fame road in the car at homecoming, that made it even cooler, she was hot in high school!

I can see where a manufacturer might want to play that close - why give the competition insight to what are the best/worst selling combinations?
Let them spend their R&D and production funds to find out as interesting as it sounds, Barney purple and pink do not make for high volume sales.
(One of the local dealerships did have a barney purple with pink hood stripe '14 Camaro....took a long time to sell that one...)

Thought ZF1 is a 2015 Option?

the ZF1 package was officially introduced at the end of the '14 model year, and orders picked up during the last week, 6/12 IIRC, allowed the option. On two forums I frequent on a regular basis, AFVETTE is the only one I've seen order the option and get it.

I have a 2014 ZF1 (NRB) build date of 21 July. I have not heard that the ZF1 is a 2015 option yet.

What was the cost of the ZF1 package on the 2014.
