Default Anyone in SW Georgia willing to give me some time behind the wheel of a C7?

A five-minute ride with the salesman yakking just wasn't enough to convince me that the C7 is the right car for me. I still like the way they look, so I'd be glad to pay for some gas and your time to get a better feel for the car.

I'm a retired engineer with a clean driving record. I've owned several Z-cars over the years, and I presently drive an '08 350Z. I'd prefer to drive a coupe, and it's gotta be an automatic. I promise I won't mistreat your car.

I'm not into hot-rodding or modding. I just want a nice car that's pleasant and fun to drive. Right now my interest is a Z51 2LT with magnetic ride.

You pick a time and place that's convenient. I'm in Thomasville, and I'm pretty flexible. PM me and we'll go for a ride.

No takers or even comments yet, so I'll give it a bump.

It will take someone very special to let a stranger drive their car just saying.

WelderGuy;

if its taking this much effort to convince yourself to buy a Corvette... I'd suggest skipping it altogether.

If you want to drive up to Cumming (north of Atlanta) on a weekend, we'll go up to the mountains on some fine GA roads. You'll ride with me 1st then get a chance to drive it away from a city. I'm always up for a good drive. I've got a Z51, A6 with Mag Ride, exactly what you're looking for. Sorry for the wise cracks you got. For the record, most of us on here bought the car or ordered one (as I did) without ever even seeing one in person. Mine has 11,800 miles on her now and I've never looked back.

Consider yourself lucky. Very few even got a 5 minute ride with a salesman before purchasing. Most never sat in one and many never even saw in person.

If you are having that much of a problem deciding then the car probably isn't for you.

Test drive it at a dealer, like we all had to do.

You could rent a C7. I have seen them at Avis. That way you will have all day to do what you want. Enjoy!

Sir, I bought my first car of each generation--4, 5, 6 and 7, without having driven one first. Each turned out great!

My advice is if you physically fit in the car (some of the taller, huskier guys have reported they don't) then just buy the car. You will LOVE this car!

Having said that, I am in MI until October, in NE FL with my C7 October-April. If you get anywhere near either area, send me a PM! I love to show the car to people, even let some of them drive it.

Check your local car rental companies. Hertz, SixT and several others offer rentals on the C7. That will give you as much seat time as you need to make an informed decision.

Funny how the responses portray the personalities of the forum.
