Default Fastest Speeding Ticket Ever

Who has a great speeding ticket story?

Mine was in 1996 in a 1966 Corvette 350hp 4sp convt on the Fla tpk doing a non stop NY to Miami.

Late at night I had a trouper turn around and clock me for 7 miles averaging 110 mph. Too long a story, but he was locking me up for the night. Finally being the man I was I pleaded and cried and finally negotiated the speed down to 85 and he took my $35 bail.
It started at jail and $150.

By the way in those days the $150 would cover my full expenses for week including gas and tolls.

131 in a 55 mph on I95 with my 1991 Vette racing a 3000GT. Passed a Highway Truper .. Did not know it was a cop. Lights started flashing do it looked but probably was for 30 seconds. I slowed down, cop passed me. 1 minute layer I got of on a Delray Beach exit. Once off the exit it was blocked off with 2 Highway patrol. The 3000GT was on that exit pulled over. Flagged me down.. In the end they let me go. Other car driver had warrants and was a wanted person. Wow... Thank God that's all I could say

A motorcycle cop is hiding in an overpass on I635 North. He nails me and the guy in front of me with a radar gun and motions us both over. We were probably doing 75 plus so it took us some distance to stop. He hops on his bike, but goes nowhere. We figure he didn't want us after all and pull out and take off. "Gee, Your Honer how were we to know that he that he couldn't get his bike started?"

135 in a 55. It was a long straight stretch of I87 early in the morning. It took the Trooper 5 miles to catch up to me, I never saw him and did not know he was chasing me down. This was 16 years ago, young and stupid

Headed east on I-10 doing a hundred (which, at the time was 25 over), about twenty miles west of the NM border, in Arizona. Got a radar hit big time, slammed on the brakes, and saw the trooper on the westbound lanes do a U-ey.

I thought, "This is it!"

He never turned on his lights. He did, however follow me the entire 20 miles to New Mexico!

Default 5 over in 1971

Driving my brand new Ford pinto with a 4 speed stick. Sitting at the light when another Pinto pulls up next to me. Young kid about my age with his wife and a new baby in the back seat. He wants to race. The light turns green and we are off. What neither of us noticed was the police car that pulled up behind us at the light. I can only imagine the WTF that must have come over this cop when he saw these 2 punk kids take off.

He caught us when we reached 5 over the limit... Thus the ticket for 5 over.

Mine was 92 in a 70. The officer was really cool about it because he got me closer to 114.

90 in a 50. Driving after dark, I laid some rubber on take off at a light. I'm driving along and signaling for a left turn. Suddenly the red lights flash. He was driving with his headlights off. He tries to give a ticket but we had a "discussion" in which I pointed out his driving dangerously and recklessly without headlights and he let me off. He was in a gas station and it took him about 3 miles to catch me.

110 in a 55 in Wisconsin. Again at night. He wrote me up for 74 as I slammed on the brakes when I saw him. He said that 20 over meant jail time. Both of these were before radar detectors.

In a tamer incident, I paid my fine in pennies. They were totally unhappy but there was no law against it at that time.

1967 driving my Austin-Healey 106 on I-64 west in Shelby County, Kentucky. Taking my college roommate home to Louisville from Morehead. Topped a rise and he was at the exit ramp turned on his lights then. He asked me how fast was I going and I told him 80. He replied, "radar goes to 100 and you pegged it." He wrote on the ticket 100+. I lost my license for awhile and paid a hefty fine. Dave, my roommate, asked me why I stopped, we could have outrun the cop. I replied that I couldn't outrun his radio. I forgot to give the speed. The odometer registered 140 and it was buried.

Never had a speeding ticket, but got one for reckless driving because I was racing. That was 10 years ago last month, and haven't had a ticket since (knock on wood).

I'm leading 10 'vettes, all of us going triple digits down a two lane road. I see a shadow under a freeway underpass on the opposite side of the road we were on and I immediately slam on the brakes and pull over, along with the other 10 cars.

The CHP pulls behind me and doesn't say anything to the other 10 cars...and so they drive off leaving me. Can't blame them.

Tells me I was doing 72 and I say to myself, "No I wasn't, I was doing a 110!" I apologize and he gives back to me my drivers license and I.D. card and tells me to slow it down a little.

I catch up with the other cars who are waiting for me at our destination and they said, "We took off because he only wanted you!"

Not a bad drive...no tickets for anyone!!!

I was driving back to OKC from Padre Island in 1978 with two friends of mine. I was driving a Suburban and was driving a little over 100 mph on some two land state highway at about 5:00 a.m. I came up behind a car and passed him. As I get next to him I noticed it was a highway patrol officer. He pulled me over and gave me a warning.

Last year I was driving back to OKC from Tulsa on the turnpike in my Vette. The speed limit on the turnpike is 75 mph. I got stuck behind a group of semis for what seemed to be forever. I finally find a chance to pass them and I punched it to pass. I pass them at 95 mph, and as soon as I get passed the truck I pull into the right hand land. Just as I pull into the right hand lane I pass a state trooper sitting on the shoulder. I immediately pull over. He issued me a warning and said slow it down a little and by the way nice car.

But I did receive a ticket last summer driving 85 mph in a 70 on I-40.

But the great majority of the time I drive the speed limit to 5 mph over the limit.

I got clocked at 160 on a back road in the hill country, knowing that he could not catch me but I could not out run the radio I slowed down and about 3-4 miles later and on coming LEO flagged me over, at the time I was going 65 in a 60 zone. He noted that I was going a little over the speed limit but the radar was not reading properly, thus no ticket but told to drive safely. I guess they did not believe what the gun said, I am thankful for that. I am sure that I was the only silver Vette on the road at the time, so there was not a case of mistaken id.

Hey, Houston! I was doing about 100 in my black early 1990's Nissan 240SX about 1am one night on the Junipero Serra freeway in the San Francisco Bay Area. Cop was sitting on an entrance ramp with lights off. They came on after I went whizzing by. I took my foot off the gas and pulled into the right lane. He must have glanced down and lost me, because he went screaming by in the far left lane looking for that speeding car. Whew!
