Mag Ride or Not???
Okay guys, I ordered my 2014 Z51 w/ Mag ride, and have been driving it for about 4 months. It's been nice, but about to place an order for a 2015 Z51 and debating getting it again (it's a weekend car only).
For those of you who purchased yours without and have been driving it for a while--any second thought on NOT getting mag ride??

Why are you getting another? Replacement or addition?
I absolutely love the mag ride, especially for DD and roadtrip purposes. If it was purely a weekend recreational car...tougher decision. Which mode do you drive in most the time? I'd suspect the standard Z51 suspension would feel similar to the Sport mode level of stiffness. Can anyone chime in regarding that?
What do you like about the magnetic? What don't you like about it?

Wait just a minute. What did you do with the real ATX-C7? You know, the one that posted the following:

I think I like it, reason I say think, I have my car in Sport mode 100% of the time, as I like it a little stiffer (remember I came from 911's). So hard to say without having driven a NON mag--hence my question
LOL, well that was before I realized that I'm really only using her in the weekend and find myself only using sport. Is $1795 a bunch of money, no. BUT, hey there are a lot of new little goodies on the 2015 that I can apply that too...

Well, since you buy/sell cars frequently, order it without then let us know which you opt for in your 2016 model

FWIW: The Mag Ride is one of my favorite features on my car. I usually drive around in Sport mode but it's nice to have Tour and Eco for a softer ride. BTW: WTF is the Weather setting.

I have had mag ride on 2 of my 3 C6s and current CTS V, The one without did not give the same ride and feel of having mag ride. I will also order it on my new Z06 or 15 Stingray. I think it is well worth the $$ and would NOT order one without it.

I think the weather setting is for allowing the tranny/diff etc to not spin the tires as easily in the wet/ice/snow conditions

I would wager that a C7 Z51 without mag ride has a less stiffer suspension than my C6 Z06, so it should do just find on road trips(and as a daily driver, where you are only in the car for a short time, not 8-10 hours at a time averaging 450+ miles a day like when on a road trip). Plus I'm 72 YO with bad neuropathy in my feet, not exactly a spring chicken.

Coming from a Mitsubishi Evo, I no longer wanted to deal with a washboard ride down the highway.

Mag ride is so subtle and effective.....it's worth the cost.
It's not the mode selected but rather the ability of the cars tires in any mode to stay in contact with various road surfaces.

The only thing I don't like about the Mag Ride in my automatic car is that if I want "Sport" or "Track" shifting and throttle feel, I have to take the rougher ride along with it as those adjustments cannot be selected for default like the steering feel and DIC can.
