Got to call on the OP's rant. I've had nine Corvettes so far (2 - C3s, 4 - C4s and 3 - C5s) and each one has been a great car. Someday I hope to have a C7 sitting in my garage. And I've never had any problems with my local dealers taking care of any issues that may have arisen with the car - from the few warranty issues that have happened to just general maintenance or installation of aftermarket parts. Good service and done right the first time.

You are entitled to your opinion about GM making a mistake with how they are handling the Corvette these days, but I just don't share it.

Sales of the C7 seem to contradict what you are saying.

The one good thing this thread has accomplished is it has us talking about Corvettes rich racing legacy. In 1962 we had the factory Grand Sports driven on road courses by Roger Penske, A.J. Foyt, Jim Hall, Dick Guldstrand and who can forget the "flying dentist" Dr. Dick Thompson. These road racers are legendary in the Corvette Racing history, no doubt their DNA can be found today in the 2014 Corvette. GM did a remarkable job on the new C7 and it is my opinion even greater things are on the horizon for Corvette. Also proof of the early Corvette Racing history can be found on display at the National Corvette Museum. Take the time to read the stories on the wall plaques in addition to viewing the actual vintage race cars.

No, I don't own a C7, but tried to explain both good and bad, not much like on any other forum. I don't hate the car at all, I'm one of the few that liked the tail lights! The design is basically beautiful as I mentioned.

I only stated my opinion, no more and you can't seem to deal with it. Grow up, open your eyes the whole world is out there if you look. Way to many followers on this forum and lack of individualism. Wouldn't that be communism? How sad!
You have your opinion and are entitled to it. There is ONE new vett available in Florida's largest county Palm Beach. It would help to validate your point if you had some proof. Do you have any pic's of all these unsold units sitting on lots? I'm asking because I just did a search of the LA area and they have SIX yes only SIX available!!! That includes whats in transport to dealers. That's looking at the 5 different dealers in the LA area. That is 1.2 cars per dealer??????

I do see it in the service tech's eyes. They are saying oh not him again.
And the owner of the dealer franchise.I know their hating it that you bought your a Vette at A
Large corvette dealer and now your local dealer is supposed to bend over backwards to you.Yeah right, that's not going to happen.
Most of them would want you to go away.

Who buys a sports car and complains that it is too fast? Sounds to me like OP is getting a vette to go tampon shopping. Also its hard to say the ls7 is the BEST motor when you have to upgrade the heads so it doesn't drop a valve.

I've had a couple, and it's still my favorite.

GM needed to stretch the market for their new Corvette. Too many cars were just being sold to the old school owners, like myself. The new Stingray has opened up the market for GM and taken sales away from other sports cars. For this reason it is a success, in my opinion. They really do not care about the C4, C5, and C6 crowd. They will develop new and younger fans to keep the fire burning for years to come. If the market agreed with the OP the new car would have been a fail. It is far from that a huge success.

I agree with most of this, except they do care about Corvette Loyalists, too. I think most of us are happy with the C7, but agree that a drastic change had to be made to bring in new customers.

In Maine, we sell lobster rolls at McDonalds.

If you think the C7 will be released as a Grandsport version, your sadly mistaken. The Grandsport was released in the C2, C4, and C6 generations only. Which means the next one will be in the C8 generation.

I think the OP is an old member (probably banned) who has resurfaced under a new name.

Default Was next to the c7 today to guys (70's) bought them

Yes the C7 is magnificent in every respect but looking at the vert next to the coupe made me say the coupe is the way to go for sure. But I am tired of coupes so I will pick up a C6 vert keep it for two years and then jump into a coupe once again.
The price for the C7 is really cheap goer what you are getting but I will wait two additional years to buy a coupe. I have a major track near my house and it is about time I take advantage of it.
