Stupid careless mistake
OK so pulling out of my garage I accidentally scrapped the car against the wall. It ripped the Xpel and now there is a small chip, looks like a small rock chip on the bumper. The Xpel was getting replaced anyway in a few weeks but do you guys recommend painting the whole bumper or just touching up the chip before the Xpel goes back on?

If it is just rock chip size, then I would use touchup.
Don't sweat it. I drive better at 100 mph, than I do 1 mph. Everyone has their weaknesses.

Fill and wetsand the chip.
After the Clear bra is installed you will never see it.

Sorry about your car. I know the feeling.

I have to go out and replace a lot of clear bras due to this very issue Don't feel bad. It happens a lot more than you think Most people just don't admit to it. Have you removed the clear bra that is on there? The majority of the time it doesn't go through the material but will look like it did. If you are planning on driving it don't remove it until the replacement bra is ready to go on or you will more than likely get chips from driving it

said it before and i'll ALWAYS say it.. no finish on a bumper is like the factory finish.... just have it touched up by a pro and clear bra back over it.

Not sure if it's true for every mfr. of clear bra, but at one point I thought I read that some recommend waiting for X period of time after paint application to put on clear bra. As Michael A says above don't worry about it; something like this happens to many owners.

If the paint is baked (like it is from the factory) then it can be cleared/waxed/polished any time.

Don't feel too bad. There's a 5th gen Camaro at work with the driver's rear quarter panel dented up along the wheel arch. Looking at the way it was dented, it was done backing out of the garage and is way past the touch-up stage.

I would just touch it up and then out the clear bra on the car. If you drive it enough, that won't be the only blemish that the car will have.
