Had a blast and would highly recommend this drive. Be very cautious as there are a ton of motorcycles and a few cars you will be sharing the road with. Do not dare cross the yellow lines and just hope the ones coming at you do the same. There are three professional photographers set up along the route taking multiple pictures as you pass through their area. This photo is from killboy.com.

Did that trip with our '05 in the fall of 2012 with a group from the Corvette museum. You're definitely correct on watching for the bikes and other cars crossing the line-no time to look at any of the scenery!
We purchased several of the pics as well-most came out quite good. Glad you enjoyed it.

Did the trip a few years back on my motorcycle. Looking forward to repeating when I get my Vette. (hopefully in the next week) The pictures from Killboy are a really good deal and well worth the money.
Best time to go is during the week. I think we rode it early on a Tuesday morning. Hardly anyone around.

I am some what local to the Dragon. I ride it lots on my Harley's. I never ride it on the week end, Monday or Friday either. Mid week is best, less cars and bikes.
There are many good roads in the area for Vett's and bikes. Cheraholla sky way is great, 28 is very good, TN 360 is a blast. There is also the devils triangle.

The Dragon is in my county, most people know of it but do not know that in the next county over there is the Cherohala Skyway which is a mile high road with incredible views. Long sweeper curves and not so much switchback curves. Far better IMO
Plus you can do both in the same afternoon

I've ridden it many times too (Goldwing GL1800).... mid week at about 7 or 8 am......
Last time, had the crap scared out of me when I saw several BMW SUV's in a 4 wheel drift, over the double yellow line coming at us.
Had my fun, lived to tell about it.

Too much traffic too many crazies on it for me. Did it once never again. As others point out lot of great roads in the country and a lot more fun and safer.

Heh...did that on my way back from Bowling Green...had to stop by the Dragon.
It was mid-week and NO real traffic. Though it was nice, I ended up getting my best picture afterwards, when I was following a foggy river.

I have done it with my Mini at the "Mini's on the Dragon" event. Can't wait to do it in the C7. You are correct that there is no time to look at the scenery - you are going around each turn hoping that there is not a bikers helmet facing you as he corners low coming the other way.

I've driven the "Dragon" many times in cars and on my bikes. Just as much fun, and less crowded is "The Snake"...US 421 between Bristol and Mountain City, TN. I drove this last October on the way home from Bowling Green with my new Stingray and it was awesome.

[QUOTE=Modshack;1587252206]Yup...I've driven most every road in a 50 mile radius of the Dragon. All as good (or better). I go out twice a year and (personally) avoid the dragon like the plague. Too commercial, Too Busy. Those photos are a nice reminder though...Everyone should do it once...
Here's my C6 in the fall of 2007:
2nd What Modshack says. Did the same in 2007 also. (only mine was red)
Ive done it many times on sport bikes and sports cars before it was so commercial. Avoid it now.

I'm also proud to say I've done every mile of the Blue Ridge Parkway on a M/C....All on Company time! (I worked for Honda for 20+ years!)
