Default Xpel (mostly) saved my rocker panels

Just a couple weeks after getting my rocker panels covered in Xpel ultimate, either I hit something on the interstate or someone next to me hit something and knocked it into me (never saw what it was but did hear it hit)

The xpel stoped almost all damage except for one 2 inch scratch where something metal cut through the film

I was able to use the Dr Colorchip touchup paint to do at least a decent job filling in the scratch

And then took it back to Chris at DFW Clear Bra who did an excellent job reapplying the xpel, now you can only see the scratch if you at just the right angle and it catches the light

Did they Expel over the factory plastic? I would think that would double your protection in one of the areas on the car prone to receive damage from road debris?????

No the factory plastic was removed, the main reason I got it replaced was because the lines from the factory plastic looked bad to me, perhaps it is less visible on other color cars, here is a before xpeling the rocker panels picture for comparison

Did you have to pay the xpel installer for putting on the film or is that covered under warranty?

Xpel Ultimate is a good film but we prefer the Suntek film. Its smoother and the self healing is just as good. You cant go wrong either way though.
