Default Buying a Stingray

I want to hear y'all thoughts and advice from current owners or just anyone that knows. So I can buy a stingray right now. But I don't know if I should buy it right now or wait it out for the 2015. What do you think is better? What are you thoughts? Will price increase or decrease. Is it better right now? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you

I wouldn't plan on a price decrease. It boils down the whether you want to drive a Stingray today or in a few months.

I had the same dilemma. I finally went ahead and got the 2014 because I am pretty much of a today guy and know from past experiences there is no guarantee of tomorrow. The other clincher was that I wanted the A6 and did not want any part of an 8 spd auto. I was also able to wiggle in before the $2M price increase...these are all factors, just consider them and decide what is important to you. Just some random thoughts...good luck!

The only thing you can be absolutely 100% certain about is there won't be a price decrease. The only real question is whether you want one now or in several months or more.

$2M!!!?? I'm glad I got in before that too; a $2M+ Vette would have blown the budget.

Nobody can tell you what is better for YOU.
If you live in the northern half of the country, you won't have a 2015 until at least October, and maybe later with all the orders dealers have already - that would mean, at least in the NE maybe a month to enjoy it, compared to 6 if you got it now.
On the other hand, the 2015 will be a year newer, and has some upgrades in options (8 spd auto, race camera, painted trim, Z51 look in the base car (if you like the looks of the Z51 better)), and comes in new colors Shark Gray and Orange. It will also cost more - most believe a $2,000 price increase is coming.

There will be a substantial increase. Some options will be made standard. A ploy used by many companies. Do not ask me how much I do not know, but it will be meaningful.

Lol. I'm in PDX right now waiting for my flight to Tokyo. I'll stop at an ATM when I get there and get 20,000 Yen.

I just placed an order for a 2014 last week through mackulkin. I considered waiting for the 2015 but based on the build I wanted there is virtually no impact (outside of a few updated digital read outs in tour and sport mode) which I can live without. Did not want the A8, body colored vents or the PDR. The price is only going to go up, some estimates have the price increase at $1,200, but that's not official.

Orders for the 2014 have to be in by Tuesday so you'll want to move quickly if that's your plan.

Depends where you're from. Americans use 'k' to represent thousands and 'M' to represent millions.

No they don't. In corporate/business economics, $M is a thousand dollars and $MM is a million dollars (business versus scientific notation). None of you guys work with money?

I've been working in corporate finance for ten years. When presenting financial reports, everyone understands "k" and "M" but not everyone understands the difference between "MM" and "M."

I work in the legal/financial world and I almost never see "M" used in connection with thousands.

Different lines of work I suppose.

OK, so what's the problem?? $2M = $2,000. We all agree on that. Where the hell did the k bit come from??

Maybe the metric system? km, kg, kPa, etc.
