A Huge Lesson for Those That Want Custom Wheels.....
I purchased an expensive (new) 2013 BMW X-5 50I a little over a year ago. 440 Horsepower and all. I was not happy with the BMW Wheel choices at all- they really suck. So I went out and bought some really nice expensive custom wheels for $5,500. Brand not to be mentioned. Well as luck would have it they have the valve stems on the inside of the wheel and are extremely hard to check the air pressure. Since I only drive the vehicle "Occasionally" I always need to put air in the tires when I do want to drive it. I'll try to make a long story short. I really got sick and tired of constantly being down on all fours and getting my hands and clothes "filthy". So I put the wheels on EBAY and put the original wheels back on the car. After 3 attempts to sell these babys I finally got them sold for a whopping $1,900. First 2 attempts couldn't even get a bid over $50. So my point to you guys who insist on spending a ton on expensive custom wheels is just be "prepared" to lose a ton of money if you should ever want to sell them when you put the originals back on. You won't get near what you think you will. Thank You and Take Care to all.

If depends on the right buyer and the condition of the wheels, and how long you are willing to wait. It's no secret on any aftermarket parts you will lose money . But I gave sold wheels before and have gotten 75% of my money back

I hear more horror stories about hi end 3 piece wheels not holding up in daily use than anything else. A guy with a C6 z06 was talking to me when I was remounting last fri, he went to 360 mono bloc 1 piece after having 3 wheels self destruct in 2 years. Apparently, the silicone can give out if not retuned every year....his words not mine.

They are custom, but still they are used. Not gonna get a lot of money.
That's not too bad though ask me how much money I got back on a TT that I dropped in a G35 when I sold it. Cars are money pits, main thing is you enjoy what you put into them.

I always stick with the stock wheels. I think aftermarket wheels cheapens the look of a car.

Silverblue, what wheels are those in your 'after' pic? Those are sweet looking on your AW vert, which is what I have and I'm looking at various aftermarket wheels.

In my opinion the afterwheels in the photo are very similar to the Z51 spilt spoke wheels. They look nice, but I still prefer my Z51 split spoke wheels over anything I have seen aftermarket.

The tires I need to run won't fit the fronts and rears, so I chose Cray Brickyards to replace them. Not as pretty, but they're 11" wide and fit 315/30/20 without issues. Same with the front being 9.5" wide.
Sometimes it's out of necessity - only other option is to pay for stock wheels to be widened. That gets pricey. I need R compound for 750whp, and nothing made for the stockers (yet).

Some, like myself, have to replace the Z51 wheel, though I really regret having to do so. The Z51 wheel is the best looking black wheel I've seen on an OEM Corvette to date.

We had this set of 11’s and 9.5's on my car for test fitting when I mounted mine last Friday. This 11/9.5 set is in stock and for sale in ft laud:
