Launch Control Issue
I have a C7 A6. I get set up for "Launch Control" with appropriate Competitive Mode indicated. Firmly apply brakes, stab the throttle fully down and my RPM's got to 1,500 and spike to 1,800.
When I let off the brake, the car will then fully accelerate but the RPM's never got to (around) 4,000 like it should.
Any thoughts? I guess a trip to the dealer is in order???

I'm interested in this also. Does Launch Control on the A6 actually let the torque converter slip more, like a stall converter?
On my M7 the rpm's do go up and hold at about 4200 rpms... way more hp than the tires can put to the ground.

There are a lot of unanswered questions on how the LC works on the A6 and just exactly the procedure that needs to be done with the Z51 with adjustable suspension. The owners manual is not that helpful.

I'd be cautious about taking your Corvette to the dealer to have them diagnose issues with launch control.............they'll have people lining up to conduct "the evaluation" or "test-beat" of your car.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I was a little concerned taking it in...
Big Dog, I guess you answered my question, after doing it a couple time, I was not impressed with the launch compared to my manual C6. I was just expecting more. After reading, everyone was talking about 4000 RPMs but now it makes Spenser that an automatic couldn't do 4000.
So, about 1500-1800 until brake release.
Thank you all. I appreciate it.

Maybe one of our really smart forum members can tell us at 15 to 1800 RPMs is normal for an automatic. Something tells me if it was up to 4000 RPMs we would be spinning the tires. But launch Sheena 1500 RPMs is not too exciting!

What was your 0 to 60 time? From claims, should be around 4 seconds. Time too is what is important, if your making advertised acceleration it is working.

RickT,
Thanks for that thread. I see now that it is normal RPMs. Just a lot different than the manual. A lot less forceful.
Thanks again to all who responded with a mature and helpful response.

I think the C7 torque converter stall speed is about 2300 or so. It all makes sense now. It just seemed so low to me the first few times I used launch control.
Thanks to all.
Thanks to all.
