I've been a proponent of the A6 (and probably the A8), but I'll say this: If you're expecting the new A8 to be as completely seamless, smooth and fast as the PDK...don't hold your breath.

That being said, both the A6 and likely the A8 perform (or will perform in the case of the latter) VERY well for torque convertor autos, with much more aggressive shift logic and much improved shift speeds.

I would wait until this new automatic transmission gets reviewed before writing it off. It brings some new technologies along with some revision of existing technology into play and it certainly has the possibility (and probability) of delivering a very good performance experience. Saying it is unacceptable because it isn't a DCT would be the same as writing off the LT-1 because it isn't a 4 valve per cylinder OHC or the C7 platform as a whole because it isn't mid engine or AWD. If the metric is performance rather than how you get there I believe the A8 is going to deliver.

As far as an owner's nightmare GM automatic transmissions have an excellent reputation and have been used by numerous other global manufacturers. I am more concerned about what may come out of the GM/Ford JV that is developing 9 and 10 speed transmissions, I hope those are a lot better designed than Ford's recent heavy duty automatic effort which has become an owner's nightmare (or at least a bad dream) for a number of owners. I have had electronics issues with a couple of GM vehicles and a couple of bad front wheel hub assemblies but I have yet to experience either engine or transmission issues and I have owned 16 GM vehicles in the last 30 years and currently own 3.

So, the Performance Data Recorder is standard and only available with Navigation. How much is the Navigation going up?

And, the IWE Upper Wrap is no standard with the 3LT along with the new, higher priced Nav. I think the 3LT is going to be up on $10k!

Eight Speed Auto will probably be going up. Z51 now to include NPP (and a little extra profit) will be going up.

Not to mention the yearly raise in the base price...

If there's nothing listed here that you absolutely must have, a 2014 isn't such a bad deal right now!

At the NCM BASH, it was mentioned that the vents were going to be standard: Black, But also option as gray or body-colored.

I do not see that option?

The 2015 Corvette Stingray will no longer be limited to just the black colored exterior vents. Buyers can get them now in standard Black, Shark Gray or body color:
◾EYT – Carbon Flash Exterior Badges
◾EFX – Shark Gray Exterior Vents
◾EFY – Body Color Exterior Vents
◾E57 – Carbon Flash Tonneau Inserts for the Convertible

Exactly! I was going to wait for a 2015 however when there was a price increase a couple months ago, I started looking for one locally and found one at a dealer only 10 miles from me! It had mostly everything I wanted (Torch Red, 3LT, Z51, NPP, etc). What it didn't have was the carbon fiber dash so I just added that myself. The best part was it was produced prior to the March price increase AND the dealer accepted GM Supplier! I couldn't say no!

Totally agree. Unless you want the new Auto box you're better off buying a 14. If you want the new box you need to wait to 15.

The 15 base price will certainly go up.

How much does anybody think GM will raise the base price from '14 to '15?
I'm guessing ~$1k.

Current Base MSRP is 53k. I can't see them raising that above 55k. 56k is such an ugly figure. lol

I see no practical reason why someone should wait for a 15 unless they want the new box. The new options for me are not really very interesting -- just some cosmetics which IMO don't really make it much more appealing. If you really wanted the bigger wheels and tires its easy to go into the aftermarket or Ebay.

So my $55K 2LT, A6, NPP, LRG coupe is looking better every day.

Isn't there supposed to be some type of Atlantic package?
Why isn't it listed? What's included in it?

The new options all look cool, but it is obvious that GM now going full-on CASH COW for the C7.

I think they were a little cautious with the 2014's to make sure that it was going to be a hit....since it has been a success bigger than their wildest expectations (Has to be, or their would not be constraints) I predict that prices are going north in a big way. Even the "official" stingray tire stems !

This is good for us who took the leap of faith on the first year car and could be problematic for those who were "on the bubble" of affordability already with the C7.

At any rate, it will keep used ones in high demand

Buying a 14 in 14 will depreciate faster than buying a 15 in 14.

if you sell it the next year, you have a 1 MY old car instead of 2.
