Default Just got the memory seat software update... C6 logic is still not there

Here is the Doc # 3829637.

What you can do now is choose the on - ignition on option. This allows you to:

1) Get in with the seat at exit position
2) Shut the door (seat still doesn't move)
3) Press the ignition button (don't start the car) to put the seat into place.
4) Start the car

The logic still doesn't make much sense to me.

You can make 3+4 happen together, but you have to have the clutch in from the exit position.

Without the update, I can press and hold the memory button and the seat moves to the set position. So the difference is pressing the ignition and releasing?
I'm OK.

If the ignition is OFF, you have to press and hold the memory button. If the ignition is ON, you can press and release the button.

I just reread the OP and I'm not sure there is any change from how mine has always worked from Day One.

Guess I need to look up Doc # 3829637 and see if it mentions VINS affected. It may be this is a reflash for older VINS...(mine is 11822)

I have an early build, 1028 I think. Here's a video of how it works now.

I do think that the "On - At Ignition On" option is new for the manual tranny. Wonder why it doesn't just move and start at the same push of the ignition switch though.

It will move and start, you just have to have the clutch in.

Is this something where I can just show up at my dealer and they will flash the update?

This is the issue. I wonder if there is a real world reason they refuse to have the seat memory return at door close on the manuals???

Coming from a C6 auto and picking up a C7 manual soon, I was a little miffed that the recall didn't work the same. Now the world is good.

This is perfect for me, as I can reach the clutch from the exit position. YMMV

I have never figured out why you have to hold down the memory seat button until everything moves into position. The button is in a very odd place to begin with. Why not just press the button and let the seat move to where you set it? What's the point of holding it down?

Yep that is a new choice on the screen. My dealer told me it would be ready when I got back from my 21 day hitch off shore at work.

Looks like it will work for me.

Ken, what am I doing wrong? Just sat in my car, turned ignition on, pressed (1) memory and nothing happened. Had to HOLD down the button as usual.

If you have the M7 it cannot be in reverse. Also, for some strange reason my seat couldn't be all the way back.

I'm trying to figure out how GM could complicate something that should be so simple....

Don't try too hard because you'll melt your brainstem. Just accept the fact that if there is a more convoluted way of doing it, they'll either program it or make it that way, just... because... they can.
