There is an old saying that you never buy the first year of a remodeled car. You wait till the second year after they get the bugs worked out. Reading some of these posts, man, that may be very true. It seems there are lots of problem, to loose parts, excessive oil comsumption, oil leaking etc. Maybe it is working out in my favor that I am waiting for a 15.

I dunno. I generally agree the Corvette usually gets better throughout its generation runs, but re the '14 they've made almost 30k of them. I don't think it's unusual to see some folks posting with issues given that volume of production.

Fair point. I think they have on some issues. Time will tell on rate of improvements on other issues.

Mine should be built in June. I'll bet the OP is correct and in August a whole new book of assembly instructions will be introduced and better parts moved into place.

Nope, what do you think happens when the 15's come out? They wave a magic wand and all of the old problems are suddenly gone? Not at all, in fact the new parts / technology for the 15's could cause problems were not seeing currently. I love this mentality that as the 14's roll off and the 15's roll on a few days apart all the sudden there are no longer any bugs.

Better parts? What better parts do you speak of? If anything you mean cost reduced parts right? Engineers have to find a way to cheapen the current parts to stay profitable. So you may get cheaper parts, and new parts that are not as tried and true as the current ones.

I have had mine since January 20th.....so far great! I did have to have the warped defroster vent replaced. Took a week for the part and 5 minutes to install it.

I had a 2005 C6 I had NO problems with it.
I am also VERY happy with the 1st year C7.

Car manufacturers hit the big problems in the first year, often to be corrected in the second (sooner for major safety issues). However, the fixes aren't necessarily 100%, because, due to time constraints, the fixes often can't go through the normal durability test schedules. You may see second or even third revisions of a fix for the same problem.

They then tackle the less major problems in the second year for release in the third year.

If someone says, "Nonsense, my car is perfect", that's a sample size of one, operated under the conditions of that one sample, built somewhere in the tolerance range for that one sample, manufactured with parts supplied by that supplier for that one sample, under observation of one person who is not performing an inspection of the car and systems. In other words, it's pretty meaningless. A problem could pop up tomorrow. Statistical sampling applies here.

Trying to use a forum to gauge the severity of issues is very difficult, because you can't determine the size of the unbiased sample.
