Here's to Wes Milby at Reliable Chevrolet
I see some of the other forum vendors get a lot of credit for their service and thought I'd let everyone know of another vendor you don't see referenced as often. Wes Milby at Reliable Chevrolet is a forum vendor and I have to say this was the best automobile purchase I've ever had in over 35 years of buying vehicles.
I started out by calling dealers in San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and Austin to see if they would order a C7 to my specs and at what price. They would rarely even speak to me on the phone and one said, Keep calling back each day and when we get one in you can come by to talk. Another said, come by and give us $5k down and we will talk.
So I came to the Forum and picked Reliable out of the blue, and contacted Wes. He was awesome. This is my first Corvette and he spent an hour on the phone with me initially going over options. I'd done my research but there were several questions and he was able to answer them all to my complete satisfaction.
So I ordered the car and Wes kept me informed throughout the process. He never asked for a dp or any other documentation. I had a Courtesy Delivery to a dealer within 15 miles of me. He gave me the contact name at the dealer and I was in contact with her as well.
The pickup went seamlessly. I paid the local dealer $200 as a fee and it was well worth it. The fleet guy spent a full 3 hours with me the morning I picked it up. And he knew Vette's as well. I got the full experience. So Wes picked a great sister dealer that cared about the experience as well.
All in all, I could not have imagined a better experience. It now occurs to me that cars are a commodity. If I can buy from a dealer I've never seen before, get a fair price, and get it delivered close to me without a hassle,... why would I go to a dealer that puts pressure on me for a dp or to buy their on-the-lot vehicle or a million other problems that can come up?
Anyway, Here's to Wes. I offered him a bottle of Scotch but he wouldn't accept it.
Cheers Wes.

I bought mine from Wes also. I did Museum delivery. Wes was offering discounts when nobody else was. They offered me a reasonable trade-in value for my C6 just from a couple of photos. I wound up selling it locally, basically to avoid having to drive it to Springfield, MO and then fly back home.
I'd definitely do business with Wes again.

He is the best.....No BS, great pricing.......A pleasure to deal with.....I tried to buy in my State (So. Calif).....Dealers were for the most part pushing their stock and not giving any discounts.....No one came close to Wes in pricing and knowledge.......My Z51 3LT is due to be produced week of 12/15......

Thank you for your comments guys. They're greatly appreciated.
Knobbie, we're so lucky that the courtesy delivery dealer we chose treated you so well. They've earned a customer, as well, by making you comfortable with the car you ordered, even if they didn't sell it to you. For the record... I'm a beer & pretzels guy. Thank you again.
Zymurgy, I tell "an elaborated" story about your car causing the sinkhole on occasion
Onpoint, We'll see you on the 19th. This new Z06 is freakin' awesome!
cobramustang1993, Your Christmas present will come in white wrapping paper soon. Once you get your car we'll need to work on your screen name
Thanks,
Wes

Ok Wes. I'm on a Butthead Bock and a Partagas out in the garage right now. I've burned out at least one bulb in the garage door opener so I can appreciate the new addition while watching The Walking Dead on Demand. I'll ship you a case of the best beer I've ever discovered if you want it. Pretzels are on you!

When I'm ready to buy, I'll certainly give Wes a call and let him try to earn my business. Springfield is not that far away.
