Anyone going back to C6?
#41
With an MSRP starting around 53k & discounts, I doubt it is a financial consideration.
Some people just prefer the C6 for a variety of reasons, styling among them.
The C7 was priced to be very affordable so young buyers and previous C6 owners (that's most of you C7 owners) could afford the latest generation.
I think the C7 is a great Corvette and it 's very affordable. Power wise the C7 Z51is not on par with the 427. Better interior, better technology, yes!

IMO, this is a little BS'y anyway. If one sales person has 3 people going back to a C6, it would be the only 3 anyone has heard of. People like to exaggerate for dramatic effect all of the time. I agree styling may impact a buy decision but it isn't like someone trading a C6 wasn't allowed to see a C7 first. Second, in actual performance the C7 is improved in every way.
The only way I see this actually happening is...
1. The new owner only cares about straight line speed and are coming from a 427 and miss the extra top end power.
2. Are coming from a GS or Z06 and decided to go with a base car (when they should have gone Z51) which turned out to be too soft for them.

We all know the C7 is not a touring car, so lets put that to rest.
Those may very well be the only 3 people on earth that are stupid enough to go back to the C6 after having a C7.
My C7 coupe is better in EVERY way over my old C6 coupe
I wonder, will these 3 people each be contacting the dealer or private party that has their old C6 and asking for it back?

I know this sounds really strange, but my Indy tells me that he has at least 3 customers who are not happy with their C7's who will be going back to C6s. The main reason seems to be the the C7 is more of a "touring" car rather than a sports car.
I freely admit that my C7 does not "feel" as aggressive as compared to my past C6 cars but I have attribute that to the fact that the C7 is more refined IMO as does everything better than my C6 cars.

That being said, if what your Indy says is true, he must have a confused Customer Base IMHO, excluding you of course.

Huh? How is the C7 not a touring car? Wifey and I are looking at tossing a couple of duffel bags in the trunk of the 'vert and heading to CA this Summer. We've done long-distance trips in C5's and C6's, and this car is FAR superior.

I'm thinking about it. Then again, I'm not satisfied with my 60 in LCD TV so I'm getting one of these.
I really miss "space command". These new fangled TV remotes have too many buttons! And, I really like those rotary channel dials with only 13 channels for me to choose. Today there are too many!
Life was so much simpler and better then.

Sold my C6 to fellow club member. Twice this spring I have seen it looking great in club pkg lot. Once he even parked it next to my C7! So yes I am "going back"--to my memories of 95,000 fun miles with that great car. But to own a C6 again? No.
