C7 Real World Fuel Mileage
So, I've had my C7 Z51 since December. I'm wondering what everyone see's for Fuel Economy as I'm wondering if my car perhaps has an issue I need to take up with the dealer.
Please note if your car is a Z51 or not and if it is a Manual or Automatic.
I'm seeing around 21-24 MPG in Eco mode at anywhere between 70-80 in 7th gear.
I only mention this because my Z06 would easily get 30~ or so with the cruise set at 75-80.
What does everyone else see?
Z51 M7 Combine 20.3 avg 85%+ highway

actual or indicated? I have only done 5 fill up and I am pretty much all over the board. I have noticed the presence of traffic makes a huge difference. I got 36 mpg indicated over 25 miles but it was in heavy traffic going about 70 in 7th
Non-z51, we have a much longer 7th so that might be part of the difference. 20.3 sounds kind of low if you are truthfully doing 85% highway. How many miles on your engine?

400+ mile trip, all highway and reset everything at the beginning of run. Speeds from 60 to 75 during trip.
32.7 indicated best, 27.4 indicated average but 30.3 average actually calculated in ECO mode. Z51 M7

Auto , non Z-51 , mostly stop light to stop light and I am getting around 17.5 . This is even better than my V-6 camaro I had in 2011 .
The mileage you are getting doesn't sound good . I have never put my car in eco mode and probably never will , unless a long hwy cruise . I'm thinking you should be at least 25 mpg .....

Took a trip out to the mountains this past weekend.....left with 500 miles on the car.
400 miles out, 400 miles back, 400 miles driving hard on mountain roads. Overall trip was 26.9 MPG.
On the return trip, all flat and steady, the car returned 33.6 MPG
Automatic base car, in Tour mode on the highway, track mode and manual shifting in the mountains..
I'm impressed

Mine is daily driven, I have a 30+ mile commute each day. The car has 10,000 on it currently so it's "broken in". I've waited till now to ask about to make sure...
The only time I see anywhere near 30MPG is if I'm doing ~60 in 6th in ECO.

My last TransAm WS6 (2002) with the LS1 engine mated to a 6 speed got 11.3 MPG in city with Premium. I'm a gearhead and do burnouts everywhere
I'm used to driving old muscle cars that are lucky to get 10MPG. BuickGS 455, Ford Torino 428 Super Cobra Jet, 69 Chevelle with a 396, Cuda with a 383, and so on.
I don't think one of those cars got 10MPG so I'm used to not getting any decent mileage, period.
If my new ZO6 gets 14MPG city I'll be ecstatic

I have a Z-51 Auto. go to my golf club and back total 30 miles round trip 15 miles is stop and go seven stop lights speed limit 40 mph 15 miles highway 65 mph. 22.5 mpg average speed 38 mph. I think if i had just highway at 75 mph i would get close to 30 mpg.
Almost forgot in SPORTS MODE 100%,really think it makes no difference what mode you drive in.I see it drop to four cylinders if not stepping on it or down grades. My old C-5 gets about the same as the C-7.R

Yeah, I'm not looking to make this a topic of why the car isn't a prius.
This is my 3rd Corvette and it seems to get the worst fuel economy out of the bunch but claims to have the best. I'm only looking to gather information to determine if I should take it to the dealer and have them check into it or if I should just accept the fact that it's the first Corvette I've ever owned that got worse (significantly so) than advertised.

I had 26.6 mpg for my 3200 mile trip from Kansas City to Seattle with 85% highway 15 % city with some highway 45-65 and others 65-75 depending on if it was interstate highway or local highway driving !!! I drove about 10% eco , 2 % weather and the rest touring !!!! Wayne

I just happened to spend four hours yesterday cruising around in my new car. I was also curious to know about gas mileage but more so between two modes. I have a A6 Z51 car. I also use my instant MPG function. These numbers were taken in manual mode using my paddles only because I didn't want the engine to run in V4. Basically I just set the cruise at these speeds and after a minute I recorded the MPG. Afterwards I switched back and let the computer dictate how many cylinders should be used by taking it out of manual. It seems as though no matter which setting I was in I was always getting at least 29 miles per gallon at the speeds with the computer keeping me in V4. Hope this helps!
