I'm putting together an article for the homepage with the help of Corvette Forum contributor Rick Tavel (Dadman1950) who has already posted this question on the C3, C4 and C6 forums. We're looking for the stupidest questions you've been asked about your Corvette.

You C7 folks are probably getting a lot of dumb questions, seeing as your car is in the spotlight right now. I'd imagine about once per week, people are pulling up next to you to throw you a good oatmeal-brained query.

We're already seeing great replies like the one below:

"Johnathon59: While showing a somewhat naive friend of mine my car, he looks inside and says, 'It just has two seats, huh?'"

Many people have asked me "If I like the car" I want to say no i spent 70 grand because i hate the car lol

I get that from EVERYONE. I guess they don't have any intellegent questions. But I had one guy ask if I had the upgraded brake package (I have yellow calipers...) At least that was original.

Maybe he did not even notice the calipers were yellow, and just did not want to have to measure the rotor diameter.
(Of course, there are other clues, like non-Z51 wheels and tires)

Consistently, "is that a 2015?"...a close runner up; "is that a Z06?"

I think it is so bad a** looking, most assume it is the upgraded performance version.

I have a bar code sticker on the car to open the gates to my community. I was asked if it was the bar code for the sticker price.

A lot of people don't know what Corvettes cost both new and old... the few that have asked about pricing and mentioned a price. Man those were funny. Like the guy who genuinely asked about my 66... What do they go for, 10 grand?

Guy was a Dr. and knew zero about Corvettes. He saw the yellow calipers and thought it signified a special brake package. Which I guess it does on some high end cars.

This is by far the stupidest question I get asked all the time. I mean look at the car, have you ever seen one before? It's brand new so who cares if it's 2014 or 2015. Don't tell me you thought it was a 2006. I've even had some jerk explaining to his friends that it was the new Camaro because of the rear tail lights. My god...

I was asked to have the Grand Marshall of parade ride in my C7 Coupe. When I pick him up, his wife asks if there is room in the back for her. She is not a car person.

There is a Costco gas station near my house and a McDonalds across the parking lot.
A much younger guy with I assume his son (3 or 4 years old) walked up to me and started talking to me about my car.
He then asked if I would mind letting him and his son just drive it around the parking lot because it would be years before he could afford a corvette.
I actually thought about it.

Those thoughts ended when I took a second look at the son that had just finished an ice cream cone.
The evidence was on his shirt and his face.
I declined the request.
