Can you add magnetic ride?
#4
I can not recall seeing a post where someone actually has; I have seen non-C7 posts where mag ride has been removed in favor of coilovers. I suspect expense would be the biggest stumbling block. Coilovers for the C7 should be here soon if not already.

Melting Slicks
If the ride is too stiff and you didn't order your car with MSRC, get yourself a set of DRM modified Bilstein shocks. I swapped the stock shocks on my 09 Z06 with the DRM shocks and it was one of the best upgrades I did to that car. They were software on the bumps but more progressive in the turns. The car drove better and handled better. Not sure if they have a solution for the C7 yet but if they do, it would be a worthy upgrade. In fact, if my C7 didn't have MSRC, I wouldn't think twice about getting the DRM shocks and it would have been the first mod I would have done.
Do a search on the forum for DRM Bilstein. They have group buys every so often.

Another option would be some adjustable Koni shocks which would not only give you the option of stiffening or softening the ride but would also give you the abiliy to fine tune understeer and oversteer to suit your taste.

The easiest way to improve the ride is with wider tires at near stock diameter:
265/35-18 tire, 18 x 9.5 wheel, 52mm wheel offset
305/30-19 tire, 19 x 11 wheel, 74mm wheel offset
265/35-19, 19 x 9.5 wheel, 52mm wheel offset
305/30-20, 20 x 11 wheel, 74mm wheel offset
The first tire pair is about 1/2" less diameter than OEM while the second tire pair is about 1/2" more diameter than OEM. But really, the wider tires make a better ride. The sidewall heights of both tire pairs are the same ! One note, there's a wider selection of tires in the 18/19 sizes

But... a wider contact area to the street means you'll be picking up more road imperfections. Wider tires also makes the car want to follow rain grooves in the highway more, causing more steering wheel correction.
Now if you were to suggest thinner tires with a smaller diameter wheel, giving more sidewall height, that is, more cushion, that would be a different story.
The best suggestions here would be to find a softer shock. Switching over to mag ride just isn't done for various reasons, (computer modules, wiring, system integration, etc.) If it was possible, many would have done it on their C6s. And from years of reading the forums, I have not read of someone able to convert.

Advanced
I was on the fence when I first placed my order and told him not to include. He tried to sway me to add it since I was getting the Z51 and said I would be disappointed if I didn't. He then told me to go home and google MRS, after doing the research one of the articles said you could not add after the car was built. Next day I called the dealer and added it. For the option price it was a no brainer.
So no you can not add after.

Increases in sidewall height would also help but I am staying close to OEM tire diameters. Also, for a sports car I want the sidewall heights to be less than 4". Well, as you go to a wider tire don't go to a shorter tire sidewall. Oh, there's where the myth comes from. Cars that went to wider tires often didn't go to higher load ratings and therefor they went to shorter tires.
So it's these two things together. A wider tire and a sidewall height not shorter than OEM.
Those tuners who say "sidewall height for a better ride" and nothing else are not very sharp
