Repairing my first chip
At 3,200 miles I managed to get a large rock chip on the drivers door, of course the rock avoided all of the xpel... I decided to try out Dr ColorChip and repair it myself(was $50), it made it slightly better but of course you can still see the chip if you know where to look.
Before, the white under the paint made the chip really stand out.
After about 6 applications to fill in the chip

It's not terrible and you did make it look better.

The way I repair chips is to fill the chip in with paint until the paint is built up higher than the original paint using multiple layers. The wet sand the small area with 2000 grit sand paper. Then use a compound / polish and polish the spot. It becomes barely noticeable

I use Dr Colors chip, and the trick is to drop it before the chip, and then swipe it to fill the chip, let dry, and then blend it in with the second wipe.

Melting Slicks
I used it on two places on my C6 and it was nearly perfect. Blade Silver hid the repairs very well.

Sorry that happened, I know that would make me upset. "Commercial" - That's why I wrapped my C7 in XPEL so I hope not to have to experience rock chips. You did a nice job in covering it up though!

I've used Dr. Color Chip on my white, yellow, and now black Corvette's. The color match is perfect but I find it a little tricky to work with..

At first, fix looks good. As time rolls on the color of the touch-up paint you've applied changes.... BE AWARE.
