It sounds very appealing they are trying to grab some people from the European market

If its any indication, 500.00 over the standard 6 speed auto in my '13 Dodge pickup got me a 8 speed and neeto little active shutters that close off the grill for better aerodynamics.

Since GM is planning on using that trans in other cars and trucks I dont think there will be a huge increase, if it was designed and used just for the Corvette it would be a different story. My guess is under 500 difference.

I think it may be 1200 more a Z06 (2500-3000 option), they are going to have to cool the sh*t out of that thing to survive on a road course with a lot of power.

Thats where A DCT really shines, a torque converter auto with lots of clutches makes a LOT of heat.

The A8 will cost no additional money over what is charged for the A6. This transmission will be used in many vehicles and they cannot charge a premium just because it is in a Corvette.

they can & they have...the C6 Z06s w/Z07 package, and ZR1s, weren't exactly cheap.

...but I think what has been said about the new A8 costing just a bit more than the current A6 sounds more likely,
from a product positioning and market penetration perspective.

Charging a hefty premium for the A8 would be a bad marketing move. They want the A8 to be seen as a value leader in transmissions especially for sports car. They can and do put the screws to us for fancy colors and painted calipers as it is so making the new transmission very reasonable would actually make sense.

I agree, the A8 will list for the same as the current A6 price. I do not see even a $100 price increase over the A6.

I call BS on that statement...............GM Charges nearly $1000 for the Crystal Red Paint on a corvette, and only $500 on the new Tahoe.........which one requires more paint???? Bet new 8 speed will be at least a $1,600 option.

I don't care how much they charge for the new 8 speed automatic. I will be ordering my 2015 with a 7 speed manual.

When pricing is released and it turns out you are right, please post and I will acknowledge being wrong.

I do not expect I will have to so admit.

But it is important to you and not to me so I likely will not notice unless you tell me.
