Good read. Predictable conclusion.

Yes. All the European testers seem to say the same thing--"not quite..." as they point out the C7's amazing performance. I think given their natural bias we got them right where we want them!

Top Gear has always been biased against American cars. That being said, from them, this is a pretty positive assessment of the C7.

Nice review...

But more to the point, there was a time when buying a Corvette in Europe came pre-damned with faint praise, or a slightly whiny sub-clause. The Vette was always good "for the money", or "for American muscle". That time has passed. The Corvette C7 Stingray is simply a damn fine sports car, irrespective of the price point. The fact that it feels like good value is just another plus. The Corvette always felt like it would one day come of age. That time, it seems, is now.
Which brings us to the million-dollar question: can the C7 really stand up to the 911 on a horrible UK B-road when the grey sky is sweating a scary, flirtatious sheen onto the exposed bits? The answer, pretty unequivocally, is yes. Yes, it can. In fact, it comes as a bit of a surprise that, when threading through these technically challenging little roads, the Corvette will happily pull away from the Porsche without too much effort - especially given a short straight.
Interested in their track review at some point

I cannot wait for the comparison of the future Z06 to the 911, that should be interesting.

That will be a comparison to the GT3 or GT3RS... not the regular 911.

The "regular" 911 starts at $85K, I am guessing that the Z06 will start at around the same price, why is that not a fair comparison?

You are absolutely 100% correct!

Comparing an 85K C7 with an 85K 911 is something that the Porsche lovers cannot accept because the 85K Vette will show what a joke the 85K 911 is. No different than a 60K Sting Ray running the table on a 60K Porsche Cayman. The vocal Porsche fans will scream about how none of these cars are comparable. They are right, they are not, just compare their stats, no contest. Flatly laughable for the Porsche humpers.

Good point. However, since we all know a nicely equipped C7 versus a comparable Carrera S has the Porsche costing twice as much, or the 911 Turbo S costing likely twice as much as the C7 Z06, it's hard to get a good comparison, if one considers price. I had a new 2003 996TT that I replaced after 5 years with an 08Z. I liked the 08Z much better. I've had my first and last WAAAY overpriced "porsche experience".

C7 is an issue for the 911 crowd, in the past the Vette threw down the numbers but had a dated design and a mediocre interior, with the C7 all of those advantages are gone.

They would probably like the Corvette a lot more if they are some day able to offer it with the steering wheel on the wrong side.

From a cost perspective it is absolutely a good comparison. IMO, the reality is no one will compare those cars because they will be SO far apart in performance... ignoring cost. The C7 Z06 will be compared to the Viper, GT3 RS, 458 Italia, etc... even though it is priced WAY less than those cars.

I have to disagree, they are biased against Americans, don't forget, at least on the show, JC loves his Ford GT and hates Porsche 911's and RH loves his Porsches and American muscle, he owns(ed) a Hemi 'Cuda or Challenger IIRC.

I suspect the GT3 will win the smoke test.
