I don't think there should be any ire against you or anyone who doesn't like a particular kind of music (or many subjects for that matter) as a person who does listen to rap/hip hop 80% of the time in my car I understand why people think that way but I just don't agree with them. Many people love Elvis, but to me he isn't real music, it's the same crap pop music that we have today.

I wonder if a processor like the audison bitone would help a bit. I've read a lot of good reviews on it. I talked with a knowledgable audio shop owner about a year ago and he said corvettes are difficult to get high quality sound in.

Uh....the tone adjustment comes from your right foot. Turn the radio off, the music comes from under the hood..

Except sometimes you are waiting in the parking lot of Walmart while your spouse is picking something up and you need to listen to the stereo

So far the best sound for the music I listen to (yes music), is treble at 25%, mid at 70%, and bass at 60%. With the sound target set to mid-front center. It's not bad now but my lowly Honda Accord has way better sound. Actually only my Chevrolet Cavalier 1996 had a worse sound system. I still LOVE this car though...

Is your car a 1LT or 2LT? The sound system isn't the best I've heard but it is no where near as bad as you describe . It is comparable, IMO, to the system in my M3... maybe not quite as good but close enough.

Bingo. You are correct and doing just that with two very high quality 8" subs and an appropriately matched power amp makes all the difference. We also placed the bass roll off **** where the power plug used to be on the center console and it's quite handy. Ultimately the bass went from boomy and hollow sounding to tight and punchy. A huge overall improvement.

I just set it and forget it. Unfortunately I listen to almost everything, from 60's Lynard and 70's Steely Dan to '80's retro, Michael Jackson, '90's grundge, dance, alternative, NWA, Eminem and today's pop....for me to adjust the settings to suit the various music styles which is always on random would take me longer than the song.

Find the a good compromise and run with it, not much else you can do.

I'm not much for compromise. It takes all of about an half a second to make any needed adjustment as a song comes up.

No ire for you...at least you understand that all MUSIC doesn't have to appeal to your tastes to be considered music afterall

I have been on the fence on upgrading my C7. I put about 6k into my C6 upgrade after the factory warranty ended. My concern is that if I touch the electrical system and have any problems GM will say I mod'ed the system and may not cover it. What is everyone's thoughts here? When I sold my C6 I de-installed my new JL Audio HD-900/5, My JL Audio 10" custom sub and my FOCAL speakers. I have been itching at getting a good processor to tap into the head unit and re-install my gear into the C7. I am sure its goign to be a major sound upgrade.

thoughts? on the concern with electrical and my gear selection?

I'd be interested in knowing more about what you did with your C7.

Thanks!

About your sound system mods specifically. My C7 is a 3LT as well, and I'd like to make some incremental improvements to clean up the sound quality. From what you've described here, you may have cracked the code on what to do about this.
